The most disappointing dining experience I have had in the desert. Overrated, overpriced and poor service. A martini $22, a glass of wine $20, a simple Caesars salad with three raw shrimp thrown on top $16. Ridiculous. Never again.
Service was far from friendly, super cold shoulder vibe. Food is less then average at best and cocktails are over prices and made so wrong. Place needs to adapt or shut down. Save your money.
The entrance is awkward but once you’re in the restaurant, you forget quickly about the stairs/lift. We went for happy hour in the lounge area. The food is generally good. I agree with Thierry that the bread is frozen, dry, too crumbly making it a disaster to spread butter on. It’s the same bread if you order l’escargot, pâte, etc. The escargot are too herbaceous and not classic escargot and the frozen bread is not good - a disappointment. My husband (a very picky guy) enjoyed his scallops and I enjoyed my tournades of beef, done perfectly medium rare, with crabmeat and Bernaise Sauce. Their Bernaise is better than most Bernaise sauces offered in most places. Bernaise Sauce is a lost art, most of it is made the quick way in a blender. Both plates were beautifully presented on very hot plates. Service was impeccable. I would largely recommend this restaurant with a few caveats; it’s not perfect, but better than most. The pianist plays lovely classic tunes, some show tunes, making for a very pleasant night out.
Overpriced, average food not even close to being French. The bread is clearly frozen and a cheap supermarket purchase. Rest of food was average. Service is below expectations. Definitely not worth the money.
The food and ambiance are great however when we got the bill we were shocked at the numbers because we knew it was expensive but we did not mind since it is a pretty restaurant. We were curious to check our bill for accuracy since the check was written and added by hand and realized they have charged us about $60 more than what it was suppose to be. We told the server and he apologized and change it to the correct amount. We are not used to reviewing the check, but we did it this time because the additions seems clearly wrong. I felt cheated and it really ruin my dinner. I had to expense my dinner and charge it to my corporation, however the owner refused to give me a copy of my check claiming his accountant needed it, to which I responded my accounting department will need it too. He seemed adamant to no give me an itemized copy and got very upset when I said that this is respectable restaurant and that he should be able to provide it upon request. He said he could not give it to anybody. I honestly think this restaurant is robbing people systematically and doing something funny with their taxes. I reported the business to the IRS and urge everyone that goes there to check their bills before paying it.Systematic theft!!!
We decided last minute to go here for an appetizer and a desert. The Salmon Roulade was very tasty and Soufflé…. WOW! I have never had anything like it… just sensational.The staff were very pleasant at snd courteous and they all take their jobs very seriously…. If you are looking for a dining experience, then make Le Paon your next stop.
Beautiful setting. Beautiful dining room. Excellent menu and wine options. Food, drinks and dessert were excellent.
We've heard about Le Paon for years and were excited to go there. The restaurant itself is very attractive and the wait staff attentive. But...I ordered the Orgy of Seafood and it was terrible! The mussels were so overcooked I couldn't eat them. The calamari was tough, the crab mushy and the scallops non-existent. And all this for $40? At least the bread was good! We will not go back!
Have never experienced such poor service and of all days Christmas. Was told by the waiter that we did not know how to order food. Waited over an hour and a half for appetizers. The owner of this restaurant swore at our party! Avoid this restaurant at all costs. La Paon was the most miserable dining experience of my entire life.
Best restaurant on earth! Even made us this drink with a smiley face. ?
