4.5. Great everything. Service is exceptional, cuisine superb, ( and it is cuisine) ambiance was nice but somewhat upper crust. Overall experience was excellent. $$$ - $$$$
Wonderful food ! We had the beets with gravilax (smoked salmon) and it was excellent - very unique combination of flavors. Also enjoyed the seafood quenelles which were light and fluffy. Finished with Wild Shrimp scampi and Short Rib Raviolis. All were appetizers and we were quite full with those choices. Would describe their food as delicious French cuisine with interesting combination of ingredients. Not the typical fare you would find at other restaurants.Atmosphere on patio was romantic. It sits in quiet corner not too close to Hwy 111 so no loud traffic noises. Service was attentive (it was a Wed) and because it was our anniversary they served us a chocolate souffle with cabernet sauvignon gelato and whipped cream - divine! Definitely recommend for a special event or just for some quality French food...
My partner bought gift certificates for here but passed away before we could use them. After finding the certificates a while later, I took a very good friend to celebrate his birthday. This was our first time here and what a treat it was.The place is located very close to the intersection of Hwy 111 and El Paseo. Valet parking is available as well as sell parking. From the outside, Cuistot has a beautiful, large European / French classic style building. Very elegant entrance that opens to the reception desk. The first thing I noticed was their dress policy - "Desert Business Casual". No t-shirts, tank tops, or short shorts - just nice and classy. The receptionist checked verified our reservation and offered indoor or outdoor seating. Also whether we preferred a table or booth. We chose an indoor booth. He sat us in a large, beautiful, French dining room with a beautiful vaulted ceiling and fireplaces. Gorgeous! The wait person arrived in a few moments, gave us a menu, and took our drink order. He chose hot tea and I chose iced tea.The menu offered a wide variety of French cuisine and a wide range of prices. Their menu is posted on their website so you can see what is offered ahead of time.Shortly, the wait person brought our drinks and took our order. My friend chose the Carpacio and I ordered the Mushroom Soup. For the entre we both ordered the beef filet substituting asparagus for the green beans. The appetizers arrived shortly. The Carpacio was excellent and was served with all the fixings. The Mushroom Soup was excellent. Slightly tangy with the rich unami flavor of the mushrooms. They also served slices of a hot, crusty baguette with butter - delicious and the butter was soft enough to spread unlike a lot of other places.Shortly, the steaks arrived, cooked to perfection. Chopped shallots topped the steak with perfect asparagus, and other items that were delicious but I don't remember their French names. But, everything was excellent! When we finished, they surprised my friend with a puff pastry stuffed with custard and with hot caramel sauce and raspberries. I don't remember the French name but saw it on the online menu.Overall, it was a delicious meal. Pricy but worth it. The food, the service, the ambiance, everything was great. No complaints whatsoever.I have a couple more gift certificates and look forward to coming back soon!
Excellent, loved everything we ordered but especially the salmon appetizer. The patio atmosphere is lovely and service was great. I hope others experience this great find.
Constantine was very attentive, and the spring menu was a great idea. The food was amazing, as always.
Very disappointed by this place. Very expensive for the quality. I do not mind paying top dollars for an exceptional meal...This one was mediocre. I am French and I am a professional chef, I am sorry I picked this restaurant.
Special place for dining, Bar room also special and very warm. Not their fault but food prices have increased significantly , not demand pull but cost push so prices are still heading north..
We love dining in the bar here!!! Great, generous pours by bartender, great service and food is excellent!!!
This was easily the worst dining experience we have had and we eat out in the desert at least four times a week. There was a very large party in the main dining room yelling, clapping and literally whistling. Our waitress offered to seat us outside but it was in the 90s. Angel hair pasta and shrimp was bland and oily , Sand Dabbs had this skin like stuff that had to be pulled off and couldn’t be eaten, veal chop needed a sharper knife to cut because it was so dry but the steak was good. I expected way more from this type of restaurant and the amount we were charged. We commented politely to the lady standing at the hostess stand as we left about the noise level. She was very unconcerned and said due to Covid they had to take what they could get. (They could have put the large boisterous group in a more private place where they weren’t bothering the whole restaurant.) They not only lost four of us tonight but by the looks of other diners we aren’t the only ones that will never be coming back. As we walked out the door, the manager said in the most snotty voice ever, “sorry you didn’t enjoy yourselves. We hate it when people have fun”. Then he turned his back on us and shut the door. Our waitress and the valet were the only good things in the whole place.
Lamb delicious sea brass not so delicious
