On the plus side, the restaurant is lively. On Friday nights there is live music on the patio. The patio can accommodate both large and small groups. If you like margaritas, you can get a supersized one.So here’s the rest of the story... The place feels dirty. The music is way too loud. There was a clown walking around that night, which was just weird. We were up sold on the supersized margaritas but they were pure sugar water and not so great. The shrimp fajitas were prepared well but the rest of the food was average at best. It was a disappointment since the restaurant gets 4+ stars.We won’t be back.
Had a family member's birthday here. The best aspects of this restaurant include the nice large patio, live music, festive atmosphere, excellent wait staff, powerful Cadillac margs, and delicious guacamole. The food itself was only average, with the consensus of the group believing the enchiladas with the original enchilada sauce was the best. The overall view of the food was that it lacked flavor and portion control needs improvement. Example, one guest ordered a carnitas plate, and another ordered the chili verde plate. Both dishes being made from the same meat, both costing the same. While the carnitas plate came out with large chunks of pork that filled the plate (albeit somewhat dry), the chili verde plate had about twenty very small diced pieces of pork barely able to fill one and a half of the two tortillas provided even when filling with rice. The verde sauce was quite plain and lacked depth. Though we had a great time, the food left a majority of us wishing it had more flavor and depth.
We always stop here on our trips to the Desert. Good margaritas. Skip the house tequila. Food as always been good. Service as well. Even better when they have their live music.
We visit casuelas cafe weekly. We love the food, the drinks, the service, the friendly staff, the live music!!! We love it all. Highly recommend!
Was excited to try this place out since the remodel. Everything started off great sitting on the patio with great weather. Then the music started. It is waaayyyy too loud. Couldn't talk with the friends we brought here from out of town. Yelling at each other for over an hour it took to get our food. People want to talk over dinner. TURN IT DOWN
Great outdoor atmosphere and music, but lost a star because my entree was under the heat lamp way too long.
Don’t be surprised over the smaller size of their traditional margarita. It packs a punch and is very flavourful. The food was not fancy but very good. The shrimp were large and the vegetables were cooked properly. The chips and salsa were also flavorful. The menu is limited but you are sure to find something you would like.
My mother is 76 she has been coming to this restaurant for decades! She took a bad fall and has a splint on her arm which she normally uses a cane with. She drove to Las Casuelas Cafe and called in an order from the parking lot. She told the woman that took her order the situation and was told the food would be out in “10 minutes”. Almost 20 minutes later she called back because the order hadn’t come out yet. The woman that picked up the phone this time told her “we don’t do that” in reference to bringing the food out. They refused to bring food out to a disabled elderly woman in a car 15 feet from the front door. I have reached out directly to the restaurant and no response after several days. This should NEVER have happen!

Super friendly, accommodating staff. Owner was on site and very involved with service. Live music~ great! Food excellent!
