3.5 stars in reality. Only two tables outside with the inside hardly packed even during lunch hour. Service was quick initially when being seated and getting menus for us. The waitress was ok, but very nice. I believe over the course of an hour we were generally checked on once besides the normal original drink and food order and "check" visit which is my only large complaint. Very small thing I didn't hold against them was not offering water on the side with drinks at all but just know you should ask for it if you would like some. Tacos were pretty good, and the salsa for both the chips and tacos were very nice in my opinion. Margarita for happy hour was ok, but we only tried blended. Beer comes in an icy mug which doesn't work in favor of beers but I understand it has a large appeal to many people. Decent place overall.
Food & service were both excellent. Quality was also good as everything served was fresh. Portions are a little smaller than other restaurants of this type.
The food is all right, yet the staff is friendly. However, if you want quick service, this is not the place to come. In fact, the time it took to get our food (and the restaurant was not busy) really made our dining experience disappointing. We waited about 30 minutes for our food. To top it off, I ordered a fried beef taco and received a chicken taco instead. They took the chicken one away and about 10+ minutes later I got my beef taco. Unless you only want to eat chips and salsa, I wouldn’t come here. I’ll not come back. That’s too bad because the actual restaurant atmosphere is pretty cool.
I visit Palm Desert monthly on business and have dined here before. It was decent on my previous visits. Today I ordered the same food as before yet it was completely different, regular tacos filled with guac etc that I have never had in a taco in my 62 years of living! When I politely told the waitress that this is not what I ordered or expected, she said "Yes, it is" and continued to argue with me that they make their tacos differently. First I did not order from the menu, told her that i just wanted a simple beef hard shell taco and a side of rice! My heavens if you know your taco's are made differently, simply ask what the customer would like on it. Secondly, don't ARGUE with the customer on such a simple matter. Her attitude made a relative non-event into my decision to never return to this place that has such poor attitude about customer service. They are a dime a dozen these restaurants, go elsewhere and save the aggravation and insult!
The servers did not wear a mask! So first off very uncomfortable. I'm Vegan and they were Clueless about what that was so class in session. The presentation was great and plenty of options for you. I prefer to have my top shelf poured in front of me as a shot so I don't get ripped off or sick from from another brand of Vodka but that did not happen. Overall the food was ok the presentation great but healthy compliance a Zero.
We took my mother in law here the first night we came to Palm Desert. The margarita and martini ordered were perfect. we all walked away feeling satisfiedwith our meals.
Do yourself a favor and skip this place! Terrible service, bland, tasteless food! I went in to have lunch one day, and it took over 15 minutes to get waited on, and almost an HOUR just to get a burrito!!! I should have walked out! The short, snippy waitress had a bad attitude and was extremely inattentive, never coming by to check and see if the food was OK, or if you needed anything, especially something to drink...On top of that, I had to stop her from walking away and ASK her for a napkin and silverware when the food FINALLY came out! She just walked up and literally "dumped" the plate on the table, and tried to walk off... Are you KIDDING ME?? Needless to say, her "tip" was indicative of her job performance...Once again, do yourself a favor, and go find somewhere else to eat. This place sucks!
The amount of options in the menu is a lot, but the food was delicious and tasteful. However, the downside is the service. The servers did not check to refill our drinks or refill our chips. The amount of waiting was average, about 20 min.
Service was very slow and staff did not wear masks. Felt very unsafe. Left as soon as possible. Food is only so so. Would not recommend.
As others have shared, the restaurant is very short of servers. It appeared that only a couple of people were trying to serve the whole place. We waited 1 1/2 hours for the food, the orders were all mixed up, and some of the plates were cold. We asked the server if the kitchen lost our orders, because no one seemed to know what we had asked for. After all that, the food was, at best mediocre and luke warm. We explained to the server that it wasn’t her fault, but the experience was a terrible mess. We tipped her in cash so that she didn’t have to share. That’s how bad it was.
