Lovely small Thai place conveniently located in Palm Desert. Clean and quick service. All our food was excellent. My husband always orders beef dishes, and he reported the meat to be tender and fat all cut off...also flavorful. My son always gets satay, and the meat was juicy and tender. I'm a Vegan, and the curry was incredibly rich and nicely spicy.
In late April 2022, we were fortunate to find this "Gem of a Place' in the desert. We have been going to Rancho Mirage for years and have tried many of the other Thai restaurants, but none have compared to Thai Orchid! As a pesca-vegan they were extremely helpful in assisting us in making our dining selections and were just as careful in the preparation of their delicious Thai offerings. All of the dishes were great! They also offered a much healthier option of soft tofu in the dishes instead of the usual fried tofu that so many other places only seem to have in their food. A suggestion if you like really spicy food like we do, then try level medium first as even that was almost too hot. Lastly and maybe most importantly, they are lovely and honest owners. When we got home with our take out food we noticed one meal had the wrong fish in it. They were extremely friendly and accommodating and credited us the amount of the wrong dish and told us to enjoy what was wrongly given to us. Wonderful place and will return again and again. Our take out order, brought to our home 20 minutes away from restaurant, did not have ANY rice. We called to let them know. they questioned us about whether we were telling the truth. We asked if they would discount the price by a few dollars but the owner hung up the phone on us!
Enjoyed lunch here very tasty. My only suggestion for others is that the spices range is 1-5 and I chose 3. Imho it was very mild.I will return!
I picked up my order, Pad Thai with chicken . Tasted good but.. Very little portions ,High price, two small pieces of chicken not even cut in pieces. Make sure you eat something else at another restaurant before ordering!!
Food is good but portion size kind of small. Especially when you're paying $18+ per entree. Good food but expensive.
Our noodle dishes were perfect. Beautifully seasoned and the fried tofu was divine. Service was professional and friendly. Just loved the place. It can get pricey, but the quality is more than worth it. Highest recommendation.
I ordered the 'HotPot' of Wonton Soup for pickup. Soup was okay and they managed to give me one shrimp for 2 people. Come on guys-shrimp isn't that expensive and the soup for 2 people was $23. Not inexpensive!
I'm giving this place 2/5 stars only because the food here was good. The service was very poor, and our waiter was extremely rude and unprofessional. She didn't have any patience at all and behaved in a manner that is unacceptable for anybody that works in hospitality. We didn't get any plates, utensils, or napkins, and never received one of our dishes. Even though the food was great, I wouldn't recommend this place to anybody solely because of how terrible this service was.
Expensive and slooooowwwww. Don’t believe anything they tell you regarding time to have your food ready. When I was there the restaurant was full of unhappy takeout customers waiting for their food. Don’t become one of them.
