We have been coming to the El Paseo area for25 years and never ventured inside this place until now. We were invited here by some friends and we really enjoyed our meals. Service was good. Portions are very large. The chicken Enchiladas in Verde Sauce were very tasty.

Don’t be fooled by the charming ambience! We came here because it was the only place open. The chili Reno dish that combines banana, beef, raisins, and cheese In a puréed mush is disgusting- don’t order it. We spent over $120 on this meal and after getting my partners order wrong, refused to take it off of the bill! They could not give us something different, because the waitress didn’t check on us until the kitchen closed. My partner thought he’d eat a few bites and then explain when she checked on us but she never did until it was time for the bill. We were starving so he ate it, although he’s trying to avoid red meat for health reasons. He started With a complement because he’s polite, “ This was really good, BUT not what I ordered…” The waitress got the manager, who said it was too late because we ate it, and then the owner came to our table and said, “The waitress said you told her everything was fine and you loved it! You eat the food so you have to pay for it. If you didn’t like it you’d have to send it back and we throw it in the trash and make you something new” I’m sorry, but I shouldn’t have to sit there starving for half an hour waiting for the waitress, and then wait longer for you to make me a new meal… we should be able to snack on what we have until you make it right! Plus, she never checked on us and the kitchen was long closed by the time we had the opportunity to tell her something was wrong. I told the manager “Fine, but I’m not leaving a tip!” He was happy with this solution, punishing his wait staff for his decision. I told him we wouldn’t be coming back and he yelled “GOOD!”

We noticed people waiting outside this restaurant while shopping in the El Paseo district so we came back for dinner that evening. They do not take reservations. It was very pleasant sitting outside. My husband enjoyed his taco salad and I had a delicious shrimp taco plate. Service was adequate.

Had shrimp tacos, a lot of food but it was DELICIOUS!!

The guacamole was excellent, the chips and salsa fresh and delicious. The calamari was soggy and when we asked to have it corrected they refried the same calamari and then it was soggy and burned. Waitress, instead of apologizing for the 18$ disaster made excuses and said "every chef has their own style". Every few minutes the place smelled like old frying oil. They need to change their oil more often so they can serve quality fried dishes, which they charge some serious $$ for. And don't make excuses, own up!

Wait staff was argumentative and disrespectful. Food, specifically the tostada salad, was horrible. Please Management, educate your wait staff on customer service. P.S. don’t ask how the meal is while I am in the middle of my first bite, not check back for 20 minutes, then advise me that you told us that the shredded chicken was flavorless.

We came here for lunch and they were really busy but we got seated and enjoyed munching on chips and salsa while waiting for our orders to be taken. Food was plentiful and very good. Would definitely recommend.

I have never in my life had a bar tender/server push me as hard as these jokers did for a tip. I felt like that $2 dollars was life or death. What a joke...

Best food. Best service. Best Margaritas on THE PLANET ?It's my favorite place!

We were on vacation, and we wanted the best margarita in the area. Our search led us here. Boy, were we disappointed! We asked for a natural margarita, meaning no mix. Typically, this means tequila, lime juice, & agave nectar. The waitress had never heard of such a thing. I asked for the drink menu; they don't have one. We said just tell the bartender, "no mix, please." She said, "it will taste terrible, but okay." Well, she wasn't lying. It was the worst marg we've ever had. It tasted like lighter fluid with lime juice! How do you screw up a margarita? We told her it was horrible so she dumped some mix in them without even asking. But wait, there's more! We ordered shrimp fajitas. They arrived with steamed broccoli, zucchini, and carrots on top. I asked her if this was some twist on the recipe that I'd never heard of. She laughed and said that it was a mistake and that they must have just thrown those veggies on top of the regular fajitas accidentally. Um, never returning--obviously.
