Go Sushi was my in-law's "Go To" hometown sushi place. Although that was not necessarily a ringing endorsement given the lack of nearby competition, we had many enjoyable family gatherings there over the years preceding COVID19.But now, Go Sushi a tired, dark (due in part to the remodel) and dreary eatery that seemed neglected and possibly irresponsible. Unfortunately, I got sick twice (literally and figuratively bad sushi kind of sick) starting within 15 minutes of my one-hour drive home. Yikes. (Thank goodness for semi-autonomous driving technology and those two Costcos along 101.)Some businesses who survive COVID19 have yet to recapture the spirit and culinary focus that made them popular in their day. Let's hope they turn the corner.
Food was decent but nothing special. Waiter got our order wrong but quickly fixed it when I pointed out the wrong dish.
The staples on the wall say it all. Super rude server but maybe she’s just having a bad day. Overall we were not impressed. Oh thank you for serving my child’s sprite into a beer glass. Just a really weird experience and kinda hilarious how little they try. The sushi is pretty good, just the service and wonderful ambience. If you want to eat here definitely take it to go and oh yea, don’t dare use the restroom.
Our comfort food, veggie-style. California Rolls and Agadashi Tofu. Garlic Kimchi Tofu tops everything.
My family loves this place. It offers a great selection of Japanese food, friendly staff, and quiet atmosphere.
Its so teasty yeah but why u still use broken plates for serve sushi i mean it looks not good but everything so teasy
If solely based on food, I would give it a 4.5. But the environment is so dirty and tired, it makes you question the cleanliness of the food prep area. Wallpaper is peeling all over, food splattered all over it, water stains on the ceiling and front door glass filthy. I hadn’t been in years and was sorry to see the decline. Also, an abrasive waitress, not the one who had taken the order and served the food, kept trying to rush us with the bill before we even had our last item served. And tried to argue that everything had been served. Did not leave a good impression.
We live a few block away and have ordered from this place many times, as well as eaten inside. Sushi is pretty good here! Sure, it's not SF quality, but I like it just fine, and it's better than even some SF restaurants.Occasionally we got fish that was kind of flavorless and cold. This happens maybe 1 out of 10 times we order.Pro tip: if you make a big order, ask them for a complimentary roll!
I ordered salmon shioyaki and got overcooked salmon teriyaki instead with a long strand of hair stuck in the middle of the sauce. The middle of the potato croquettes I ordered was cold, it had to have been previously frozen. The poor quality of the food is just not worth the price.
We ordered 80$ worth of sushi and everything was amazing! We will be going in next time as there as no one in there and it was unfortunate! Ginger salad was great as well ??
