Great spot. THEY ARE OPEN! The signage is a bit understated, causing us to think the place was always closed. But, they are indeed open. The folks are actually Brazilian and serve authentic cuisine. The “Picanha Grelhada” steak was done properly and tasted great. The staff is VERY friendly and attentive. The clientele is affluent, yet friendly. Prices are what you’d expect for a good restaurant.
Took 6 friends there last night. The service was amazing bad. Had to go to the bar to order wine because no one came to our table. Had three different, untrained servers during our 2 hours there. The lady that is normally managing things was not there so they were all lost. Made a horrible impression on my guest and they won't be back.Seems like employees don't care anymore because they know they can go next door and be just as worthless for the same pay.
I’ve tried a couple of their desserts and that’s what I’m rating. I tried their fried plantain and thought that was really good the other dessert I had tasted like a peanut butter Reese’s which although I like it’s not something I’d pay that much
Food is amazing, and they have great views! The service was a little slow, but our food was delicious asd hot so it was not sitting around. The place is on the second floor so it has great view of the harbor and the water. Eager to go back.
It isn't bad. I just didn't find anything outstanding. I had the chicken plate. Again, it isn't bad. But to me, it was kinda bland. The staff was pleasant but a bit slow on a not so busy night. The peanut butter desert was good as well. The view was great.

Our favorite restaurant for sure. So happy to be back after pandemic. The Lobster Moquecas bowl could have been a little over cooked. Waiter suggested Mariscos bowl with Lobster. That would be amazing. The food here is incredibly tasting. Don't miss out.
It was my first time in Port Hueneme / Oxnard and I decided to try Moqueca (the Thousand Oaks location was in my to try list but I was actually in PH). I had the picanha skewers, coxinha, and seabass moqueca. The picanha was excellent and the coxinha was good but I wish they had catupiry as well as the chicken. I noticed the appetizers came with a lot of garnish (e.g. small lettuces / spring mix) which felt very 90s. The moqueca was great and came with plenty of seabass which the server said was from Santa Barbara. I would definitely come again and try the kibe/quibe and bolinhos. If you're in PH for work, I highly recommend brining in a bunch of empanadas and coxinha for a morning meeting the next day. They were an absolute hit. Hopefully they have large to go/catering options.
Superb experience at Moqueca. We had a reservation for the evening which made everything smooth from the beginning. We ordered appetizers, mixed seafood Moqueca for 2, dessert, and drinks. I loved the bread/tapenade free appetizer. Very filling and delicious meal from start to finish. The live Brazilian singer / guitarist really made for a pleasant evening. Great service too!
Really nice food. Walk in seating on a Saturday night ++. Service a bit slow....but it is South American resto (typical?)
