Gave them two opportunities to cook the fried calamari and both times it came out like wet noodles no crisp. Then I left a 15% tip on our two drinks and was charge 30% tip.?

We went to Ocean Side to celebrate Father's day at Rocking Baja instead of going all the way to the Original in Old Town San Diego! Busy day of course! We got set in about 15min. We order Calamari and the baja bucket special! All was good great service but, when I started to chocke i got a long hair in my throat and had to go to the restroom to wash off the feeling! The table next to us had a piece of hairnet too!! Manager came to the rescue! We return the Calamari and the fam enjoyed the bucket special! Other than that food was delicious and the bucket was emptied! Also dessert was included!
Just amazing!! We got the Baja Bucket and it was incredible! So much amazing food! Everything was cooked to perfection, and the skirt steak was a surprising star for the tacos! Lobster was so good! We got plenty of food to fill with leftovers and 2 drinks for $125 after tip! I can’t imagine having a better meal for double the price! So great! Come here for a fun night!!
Wow what can I say. I have never had Lobster corn chowder that was so rich and flavorful. I ordered the Lobster lover’s combo. Have to say the lobster taco took me by surprise, it was a little bit spicier than I had anticipated that was on me I should have asked how spicy is the meal. The wait staff were quick to refill your drink or just to see if you needed anything else
We drove in from Arizona and decided to randomly try this place for a late lunch. We were seated fast. Basket of chips and a really good salsa followed right away. So many good things on the menu, including buckets of seafood. Ended up settling on the tacos, with an order of fried soft-shell crab and an order of lobster. The crab tacos were good, but the lobster tacos were ah-mazing! So good! We agreed that the soft-shell crab tacos were about a B- but the lobster tacos were A+ all day long. Ranchero beans were tasty and filling. Fresh salt air and views of the marina were a bonus.
They have a relatively prime spot on the harbour front but really haven't taken advantage of it. The restaurant is basic but in a funny way, that fits in with the location and vibe. We ordered two of the mixed seafood buckets and whilst what they had in there was nice, as mentioned by one of the other reviewers, they overcooked the prawns and lobster, so it was difficult to get the meat off the shells. One of our party ordered a meat burrito which was absolutely enormous and he ended up sharing it with others as it was simply too much. When looking at the bill the following day, I noticed that there was a 4% surcharge added into the bill (which was not tax) and there was no explanation given for it. Probably a bit on the expensive side for what we had but I suppose that they're leveraging the location. The server we had was friendly which helped make up for some of the other shortcomings of the place.
Best place for friends gathering! Met with my amazing Zumba friends, and it was so much fun! Food was amazing! I didn't get the name of the gentleman who serve us, 25 people in the group, and he was so patient taking our orders! He was very helpful!Location wise, beautiful! Good environment!Overall this place is Great!
Always delicious. We got our original Baja bucket. Sooo much food, we had a hard time finishing it. My boyfriend pinch hit and got it done. Price is good for the bucket, but 7.00 each for the bud lite beer was a bit pricy. I should of asked how much before ordering but I assumed it would be around $4 or $5.00. Oh well, we were happy to say the least. Go get some yummy food here soon.
