One of the best tacos I’ve ever had. Their hazy IPA Coastal fog is my fave. Highly recommend. I’m happy this place is so close to my house.
This place is awesome! Such a fun vibe! They have a great selection of tacos, and they give you free chips and salsa, which are house made and really good. We had birria, crunchy pork, shortrib, cheese crust al pastor, and carnitas tacos and they were all excellent. We also had the Michelada Verde and Michelada de Casa which used their own Municipal beer and were tasty. They have a wide selection of Mezcal and Tequila cocktails too, so we'll have to try those on a date night sometime. They do a happy hour after 8:30pm and tacos are only $2.
We were so excited to finally try this place and were very disappointed. The chips and salsa were amazing! But it stopped there.The presentation of the food was awesome and everything looked so delicious but when we started eating we were very underwhelmed. The chicken and Carne aside tacos especially were gag inducing to be honest... The side of rice we ordered was ice cold and not very flavorful either. I will say that the cauliflower vegan taco was pretty good at least. They were nice enough to take the bad tacos off of our bill and service was great. The drinks were pretty good too and I would go back for Margarita Monday's for $6 margs but never eating here again.
Delicious. Each taco has it’s own unique flavor. Highly recommend the Wild Shrimp and Crunchy Pork. I’ll be back to try their Arugula Chopped Salad. Come after 2pm for a very good Municipal Marg for 5 bucks! We loved our server Yvanna. Would give her 10 stars!
One of the only places I've been to where the food is almost the same as TJ tacos!It's hard to find really good Mexican food, and Municipal Taco pulls it off. Due to the effects of COVID there was a staffing shortage here so wait times were a little slow.They do need to work on communication. Twice I've been here and they thought they sat my party down already and gave the table away to someone else. When we had an issue the same host went out of his way to bus the tables to make sure we got our seat. I thought he really stepped up for something he wasn't supposed to do.Waits may be a bit long but I promise you will love their tacos and overall the food is great.
One of the best Cadillac margaritas around and some really great tacos. The tacos are about $5 each but are a good size so you don't need more than too. Drinks are really good and the beer selection while a little small, has a good range of options. Really great spot, definitely recommend making this a regular dinner spot.
Went there opening night. Very impressed for a first night experience. The food was a little slow but worth the wait. Drinks were cold and excellent wine selection.Service was slow but understandable due to the occasion.Tacos were hot and flavorful. Tortilla chips were fresh and hot. Ceviche was delish.
Appetizers were delicious, as well as the cocktails. We got the mahi ceviche and street corn. Both delicious alongside the yummy provides chips and salsa. Tacos were a bit underwhelming for a place that specializes in tacos. But the atmosphere was lovely and festive and employees were welcoming and responsive. I will definitely come back.
Food was okay. Feels a bit like they are trying too hard. Nothing was outstanding, though Cadillac margarita very good. Service was good and everyone friendly and helpful.
Food is decent. A good take on Mexican food. Chopped salsa was a bit sweet for my liking. Do try the corn, it is really good. If you are not too hungry I'd go for the tacos, you can order one or two and try all the options eventually. For the bigger appetites they have a stake plate with rice and beans. I ordered medium, it came medium well. They have a special on margaritas on Mondays. Moving on to dessert I loved the fact that the Flan wasn't too sweet but it has caramel drizzle on the bottom so if you are sharing and someone wants more sweet you just go right on and scrape that caramel to your liking. Will be back to try the rest of those tacos.
