This place is pretty good aside from their California rolls. This is not an appetizing California roll. Their fish is good, nigiri is in good proportions, sashimi is good. If they could change the way they do their California rolls it would go a long way.
tl;dr The food is alright but they haven’t figured out how to get the items right for pickup, which has unfortunately made for multiple bad experiences.We used to love dining in at Love Boat years ago before we moved out of state. We just moved back and this is the 2nd time they’ve given us incorrect entrees in our pickup orders. We could check more thoroughly, but we usually trust that we’re given the correct items, and once we’re home and settled and pull out the food we don’t want to have to go back out again. We gave it a pass the first time but we’ll be going elsewhere now that it happened again.
Wow!! This place is tiny and the tables are small BUT the sushi has BIG flavor!! I have my favorite sushi spot but this is definitely a close second. We will be back!
In the past we loved this place, but two times in a row we have not been able to dine or order food even when they were not busy. We showed up and there were only two customers inside dining and the bar as well as all other tables were empty and clean, but no guests. We were told we would have to be put on a waiting list and it was about a 20 to 30 minute wait. The time before we called to order food to pick up and were told it would be an hour and they didn't seem to want to take our order. When I picked up the order, there were not many customers there so I don't understand why they don't want the business. Also, the rolls were half the size of what they used to be in previous visits but cost the same. We found another sushi place and won't be returning.
The first time we ate here it was good and the service was also good. Then I ordered to go and everything was much smaller than the first time. We went just now to dine in and were told there was a wait list even though there was nobody seated at the bar and only two tables in the entire restaurant had customers. There were many tables available and we were told we had to wait at 4:45 pm. We won't return.
Very good! Would definitely recommend for Sushi in Oceanside. Very fresh and prompt service with very nice and welcoming staff.
Seated for 25 minutes without a single person coming by. No water, nothing. Just got up and left. Actually insane you can have 5 workers walking around and nobody takes the initiative to come help you. It’s my wife’s birthday and that was our dinner experience. Laziest employees I’ve ever seen. Hostess is sitting on her phone right in front of us, really working hard.
This one is really close to our hearts...it is the place where we LoVe to eat!...when we can't figure out what we want to eat!! We usually get noodles?, ramen ?, tempura ? and sushi ?...but if we're really hungry..we add the large ♥️ love boat ⛵de luxe combo!! party of 4...130ish ? with a generous tip!! Update: $60 for the love boat for two!!? For our lunch anniversary!!!..now..where do we go for dinner??
I dont know why they have such good reviews. Their sushi is average at best, they are located in a strip mall next to lowes so you would think maybe they have better deals....but not so much. If you like raw tuna, this is not the place.
