I used to love this place but now I have to drive to the one in San Marcos. Now their teriyaki chicken is always burnt, dry and old . $17 for a nasty meal -
Not bad, ultimately, but far from good. The menu is fairly basic, and you certainly pay for your larger meals.I got the Large BBQ, on the first setting, the beef was fairly good, served with a teriyaki like take with zero spice, a bit of rice and some cold potato salad. In the second time, I ordered curry beef, and that was stupidly disappointing. The dish was just so blend it was bordering awful.I think folks that know food wouldn’t make this a regular.Additionally, the restaurant wasn’t that clean. There were dirty marks on the chairs and food mess on the table, I had to use a high chair for my son that was so dirty, I had to get wet wipes from my car to clean. And don’t get me set on toilet, that was perhaps the worst I’ve seen in many years.I do firmly believe, if you can’t keep your tables, chairs and toilet areas clean you can’t cook and store food clean. This part of California has great food, I don’t think this place is worth the gamble, given the poor cleaning practices.
Always enjoy eating at L&L! I ordered chicken katsu with 2 scoops macaroni salad (because it's that good) and 1 scoop white rice. As you can see, they piled on the food! It is definitely worth the price. You could very much make it last for two meals. Highly recommend!
Ordered for graduation party food was awesome!!! BBQ chicken and Mac salad were a hit!!! Very friendly and had order ready on time!!!
The lady at the front needs to be fired she is incredibly bad at her job, on a personal call while I was trying to order. Also was blatantly rude. Get a better person for the job
New owners are horrible. They should not be able too own such a great franchise. Oceanside blvd location sucks.
THE PORTIONS! Absolutely amazing. Fresh and delicious. Friendly staff as well.
This place has been around since I could remember in my teenage years and it holds memories for me . Love the spam Musubi
Food was mediocre .. that's why I'm giving them at least one star. We ordered food online for pickup. My husband went to pick it up and he did not have a mask on. The lady at the front said if he did not have a mask on, he couldn't receive service. She told him he'd have to wait outside. He didn't even have one in the car. It's fine if the business requires masks for some reason but if that's the case, they should provide it. They should also ask politely. My husband spoke very calmly and the lady was absolutely rude to him. He asked her to just cancel the order then and she refused. Blatantly just said no. My husband walked outside trying to figure out what to do. Another customer was nice enough to bring a mask for my husband from his car. The cook was even trying to tell my husband to just grab something but we did not have anything. As my husband was walking out the door he also saw the cook remove his mask completely. I truly feel like the lady was just controlling, trying to force masks on someone else without being polite or providing masks at her place of business. The food as I stated was mediocre. The eggs were overcooked on the Loco moco. The spam musubi wasn't great. The bbq chicken was ok. Fries seemed to have been cooked twice. I will take my money elsewhere.
Seriously, I used to order from L&L ALL the time. Especially between myself and co workers. However, now to get it delivered through door dash they’re charging $7.99 for a delivery fee. It used to be like $3 or less. Unfortunately, this restaurant may need the extra money to keep business going. But I cannot afford to buy from you anymore with a delivery fee that high… if the portions we received were a lot, maybe… but you’re charging $7.99 for a delivery fee when DoorDash is already expensive AND you give like a scoop of macaroni salad and no sauce on the rice ….I’m actually embarrassed that I supported your business bc it’s evident you don’t support your customers
