There are few Mexican restaurants in Oceanside that can deliver a meal like Anita’s. I cruised through the menu and found several dishes I’ve always liked the chili verde, tacos, burritos and shrimp dishes. Not the most creative at times, but very good sauces , meats and presentation. And yeah, I’m a gringo… but I give a **** about what goes into my ample stomach so tonight the cheese enchiladas were perfect. Dreamy, cheesy, melted messes of perfectly spiced enchilada madness. Even the beef taco was great but tonight I rolled my eyes upward and said my thanks to the creator. Next the true test will be the green chili verde…. I can’t wait. The service could

Nice clean and crisp vibe. Has some outdoor gathering space as well as a large bar area. You have to either call or put your name in early as the place does fill up fast. Food was pretty decent, although not as flavorful as I would have liked. And the house margaritas will do the trick if you're looking from something classic with a punch.

The food was really good and the service was awesome. I was so hungry I forgot to take a picture of my food but I did take a pic of my left overs....the portions were enough for a hungry guy like me?

Amazing food, had a small get together in the back patio... it was secluded enough and we had it by ourselves. Great food..... great service. Our waiter was amazing.

We tried this place last night since we figured they have been in business for almost 50 years. Horrible service ever. The food was almost as bad and expensive for Mexican food. the so called, "juicy" steak was over cooked. the carnitas was so dry, even 2 limes couldn't help. lots of lettuce on the plate making the portion of the actual meal, small. Absolutely a waste of time and money.

Whenever I'm in Oceanside I always stop by Anita's. I love their shrimp enchiladas they are the best I would definitely recommend people to try them. The staff is always attentive to your needs. The drinks here are also great I usually get their mango margarita. The atmosphere here is family friendly and relaxed.

Wonderful experience. Food was delicious with several unique options. Happy Hour is great. Drinks were plentiful and good. Staff was efficient while also being friendly. Vibrant atmosphere.

Always good food , friendly people. Wish it had a fireplace like it did in the old place.

I don’t want to knock any of the servers or employees, all of which are extremely hardworking, but the food was really gross. I’ve worked in restaurants and I can spot from a mile away when the food is being reused, and not cooked fresh. Ordered arroz con pollo, because it was familiar and something I enjoy making at home. The chicken was old and the rice was clearly cooked several days prior, the entire plate was drenched in butter I think in an effort to cover up the taste of the food. I took two bites and became nauseous. The drinks were bitter and hardly mixed cocktail. I would not go there again and would not recommend this place to friends. The interior was modernized and updated recently I think, but instead of updating the furnishings, they should have modernized and updated (as well as shortened) the menu. Mexican cuisine has come so far, and the offerings here stop short at least by a couple of decades.

great place really to nice ppl great food...
