Excellent pizza, great salad
Delicious Chicago tomato pizzas with some vegan options. The Mediterranean is my all-time favorite. The pizzas take about 45 minutes, but the wait is well worth it. If you are driving to pick up, there's not much parking. If you are biking, there are no bags so bring your own. I once had to bike 3 miles home holding a heavy pizza, which was precarious to say the least.
Being born and raised in the bay area, Oakland to be exact, Zachary's was always one of my favorites. Even after going to Chicago and having an authentic Chicago stuffed pizza Zachary's nailed it, it tasted as good as Giordanos in Chicago.

Probably never will again.I believe the very best pizzas are all about the quality of an artisnal bready crust, the toppings be dammed. Anyone can throw some sauce and toppings on dough. What matters is how good the crust is. That's what separates a good pizza from a great pizza.Sadly there was nothing remarkable about Zachary's crust. It seemed merely a vessel for toppings, completely relying on the toppings to mask its bland crunchy texture and flavor.
Great experience, even though it was a wait for a stuffed pizza. Great balance of flavor and not too salty.
Zachary's is the go-to for one of the best pies in the Bay Area! Thin or deep dish you just gotta tell them what you like and the will make it with a little bit of their pizza MOJO! Yummy!

This is the closest thing to authentic Chicago deep-dish pizza that you'll find in the SF Bay Area. The Chicago Fire chain in and around Sacramento is THE authentic thing in Northern CA, but if you can't get there, Zachary's is certainly better than "good enough" to satisfy your craving for Chicago deep-dish. Skip all the Californicated options (butternut squash, Mediterranean, chorizo, etc.) and get the Zachary's Special; it will be the most Chicago of the choices. A small stuffed is more than enough for 2 people. We got that plus a single garden salad to share, for a total of $35, and we were happy for dinner and lunch the next day. Good value when you figure 2 meals for 2 people. If you're from Chicago and need a fix of something close to Giordano's, Geno's, Aurelio's, etc., then hit up Zachary's.
