A nice surprise overall. Small menu with some good items (ravioli). Nice dessert choices. Very attentive service. I shall go there again.
I found this place by chance. I was searching places to eat near the Paramount Theatre. This place is a hidden gem. Great food, prices and service with fantastic drinks. The Chicken Piccata was delicious. I will definitely be back!
We arrived on time and we were just asked how many were in our party and not if I had reservations. I told her that I had a reservation and then we were taken to a table with a reserved sign on it. The waiter was so laid-back he didn't even write down our orders. The bread and butter was good as well asnthe chicken wings and I loved their hot sauce as it had a lot of flavor. Everything went downhill after that. The crab cakes were old and I couldn't eat the sample from my sister in law's plate. My blackened chicken was burned, not blackened and extremely overcooked. When I explained it ti the waiter he tried to convince me it's just blackened and I had to ask for the manager as he wasn't getting it but the manager/owner did and took it away and off the bill. I ordered the garlic shrimp and a small Caesar salad instead. The shrimp were presented in a boiling hot cast iron pot and therefore the shrimp were overcooked. Presenting shrimp boiling in liquid in a cast iron pot should never be done as it doesn't take long to cook and cast iron holds heat very well. In addition to being overcooked, they were extremely salty and I couldn't eat them. The Caesar dressing was good. Too bad the Romain lettuce was somewhat wilted and limp and the croutons were made from good bread but oversalted. I used to go there years ago with a friend and we went frequently for drinks after work and appetizers and they were a lot better then. The manager/owner is the same but the food has really gone downhill.
I had the pleasure of speaking with Mehdi and he invited me to his restaurant! I’ve added it to my California bucket list. With his excellent leadership, his servers are no doubt outstanding!Highly recommend to visit them!
Menu never changes. Food is fine but nothing to get excited about. The chicken piccata for example is a huge piece of meat sitting on a small island of mash potatoes. No one person needs that much meat. It’s two meals and no vegetable and just meh. Tortilla soup not as good as it used to be. New chef? They need a menu overhaul.

We really enjoyed Z Cafe. Had the Pecan Apple Salad and a sandwich. Able to easily personalize the sandwich with the wait staff. Excellent lunch. Definitely will be back for dinner and more.
Had the BEST bunless burger I have in a long time. Add Swiss, Mushrooms, Bacon, along with the lettuce, tomatoes, and onions it comes with. TASTY! The Garlic Fries were outstanding.
Z Cafe is always on point … good food, good drinks, good service … been visiting this place for years & never been disappointed.
Restaurant owner is always around to ensure high quality. Waiters are very nice. Salmon is delicious.
