This restaurant was new to me, craving Chinese, I went to my favorite and it was closed for remodeling which lead me to Yang Chow. I literally walked into Trader Joe's and there was a group of people also entering and I said, I am not from around here but craving Chinese if while we are shopping and you have a local favorite please tell me in passing.. two people suggested.I ordered a Peaking Duck but no luck for duck, so I ordered salt n peppered ribs, BBQ pork fried rice and Chick Chow Mein. I brought it to my friends house who said it is now their favorite BBQ pork fried rice. I will say this was great and the portions were not skimpy. I am actually going back today
For 15 plus years, my husband (now deceased), and I ordered from Yang Chow Restaurant, Oakland. The food was always excellent and beautifully cooked. Unfortunately, with COVID I did not order any food until yesterday as a birthday gift to myself and in memory of my deceased husband 2014. Unfortunately, times and cooks have changed and as I sat this morning and peeled off greasy, hard fried coating from my Fried Prawns, and sweet and sour Mushrooms to try and salvage the dishes, I also ordered a slice of cheesecake which had no taste in the filling or in the pie crust. My nurse practitioner roommate and friend, then told me that her Broccoli Beef and Wor Won Ton soup was greasy and when I looked at it, grease was rising to the top of the container, she was right. I am grateful that I did not wait until my birthday to serve this food to friends and neighbors.
Great local spot with amazing garlic hot spiced beef and fried rice. Definitely a favorite in Oakland for me ?.
Delivery service is at a all top high of POOR SERVICE, not only am I on a walking but the driving didn’t want to get out the car to bring the food to my door and had the nerves to be very inpatient about me coming from the 4th floor out to the street. I would never order from here again.
Stopped here for lunch with the guys from work. Got a lunch plate. It’s a healthy serving. Food was hot, fresh and delicious. 5 guys all approved and would def return.

The lady on the phone had a funky attitude so I would have read it five stars but she was very rude and short and condescending with her attitude and demeanor the salt and pepper pork chops that I ordered were good although I believe they cut pieces from around the bones and gave me that instead of actual meat but whatever the flavor was there and you know I can't complain
Omg!! I have been patronizing this restaurant for a min. The rice is fresh and taste hella good.Try it 1st!! Please do not use any soy sauce. The chicken was seasoned well and perfectly breaded. Your food literally is fresh out the wok. It took me 20min to get settled at home. My food was still really hot?Ain't nothing like having a. craving and it hit the spot. Y'all already know, im going back. Just wanted to put ya'll on?Thank me later??
I just order chicken chow mian.the just put the chow mian in the paper box. They come out and leak everywhere.
I’ve been looking for Dry Fried Ribs since I moved back to the Bay, a couple of years ago my cousin told me how good they were and I decided to try them today, 07/01/2021 and I have to say they are the best I’ve tasted since moving back in 2020.
