This was the first time I came here, and I had a great experience. The restaurant is combined with the taqueria -- there are about 4-5 guys working behind the counter to make everything. Guy who took my order was very nice, really quick as well.Wait-time was a little longer than I would've liked due to the lunch rush, but I don't hold that against anybody working there at all. My orders usually take a longer time to complete due to various extras I like to add. I ordered their avocado bacon burger with swiss cheese, grilled mushrooms, extra bacon, and a side of fries. The burger was great, very flavorful and juicy. The fries were crisp -- something I don't usually see from most burger joints, sadly. Most places I've found tend to make sad floppy fries.I'm not from Oakland, so it's a bit of a long drive for me, but I would absolutely recommend Tony's for anyone looking to get a nice burger and support a local Bay Area small business.

This location has seen several management changes. I was a fan of the original owners back in the 90's. They served large delicious sandwiches for a reasonable price. I understand the economy has change and prices must reflect that. The current owners offer a much larger selection of menu items but I'm a fan of fresh deli sandwiches. They have fresh items but for some reason the taste just isn't satisfying. My salami sandwich was bland. I'll have to try another menu item before I completely give up. Their costume service was good though.
