Fun and funky wines, well curated. And the snacks are tasty and well paired. Highly recommend!
We knew the bar and went there since before the pandemic and during it we became club members to support the team. Yesterday, on Mother's Day, we we there to celebrate with our 2 little ones. We knew this place was (or used to be) family friendly as we used to go there with our eldest. Our 6 months old baby started crying (the most natural thing a baby does) as he was sleepy and tired, it lasted litterally 3 to 4 min (can understand it can seem long). While he was crying I saw the bartender seeming to be annoyed behind the bar. My husdband was taking the baby off the stroller when that same bartender came to us and "suggested" that we take the baby outside as "we can hear him in the kitchen". It was bloody windy and cold (30mph). We knew what to do to calm a baby down, we didn't need advise BUT this guy was in other words asking us to go away or that one of us does as he didn't stand the crying of a baby. There were litterally 4 people on the bar, 2 on a table and us. I don't think any of the clients complained - who would complain about a baby crying for 4 min???That was the worst experience ever. I don't know if Dan and Lisa the owners and parents themselves are aware that babies and families are treated this way. This guy was beyind rude and we had to leave because we could NEVER stay in a place like this. And guess what, when I checked the receipt back home, he over-charged us all the HH items we ordered. Rude and dishonest.
Wine was amazing, but the real draw of this establishment is the bartenders' selection of unique, distinct, effervescent?, abstract, I'm really just listing words here, shirts. No but seriously they had some cool shirts. Drink their wine and admire
Bartender ignored myself and my partner and served others ahead of us. Then he was dismissive and condescending when we asked to order. He told us he didn’t have time to pour a flight of three wines for my partner, but he served bottles of wine to a table of twelve people…my partner was the only customer of color in the place, and now we know why. Won’t be coming back.
AVOID AT ALL COST!!!One of the worst experiences I have had at a bar ever. Apologies for the wall of text.Bartender (tall, non-white, male presenting) was one of the rudest individuals ever encountered; completely ignored the interracial couple multiple instances, served the white people who came after, rudely stated the times it would take to prepare a wine flight and a burrata plate (at a wine bar...hmm), and when inquired as to why he's being a d*** (verbatim) stated imagined snide comments that I was making behind his back and how busy he is.I kid-you-not, at one point he literally pointed to the kitchen and told me to ask the kitchen staff how long it'll take to make the food (sorry, what?).
Good wines. Yummy snacks ? great bartender.
Nothing says Oakland to me like this place does.
Vax cards required for entry. Lentil soup was too oily but there smoked fish was delish. And I like their wine selection
Great wine bar, huge selection of different wines (vintages?) I'm no connoisseur and Ive always found the staff to be excited to help and offer suggestions. They have a blind flight where you have to guess what four wines are from the menu and if you get it, they're free. Good luck. Lol
Red wine served way too cold.
