The outdoor eating was awesome. I enjoyed the Dungeness Crab Cakes for appetizers and the Dungeness Crab Melt for dinner. Is super delish!

It was great food came out fast as well as drinks and server was nice
Service was hit and miss. We got seated right away but took a while to get anyone to take our order. Once they did, food came out pretty quick but looks like we came in right before happy hour so maybe they had more folks just start.Food was okay. Nothing extraordinary but nothing bad either. The seafood deviled eggs were basically smoked salmon deviled eggs, which was fine for us but may be a bit deceiving for others. Brussel sprouts were good with mint adding a unique twist. Fish and chips were about average and risotto was bland.
Good atmosphere by Lake Merritt. We got lucky to be there at 4.30 pm Sunday and there were a couple parking spot in the front (probably the only two spots left ?).The service and food were awesome!! Drinks a little pricy but ok. We got crème brûlée for dessert. It was too sweet for us. It’s still a good experience overall!
called two weeks ago and made a reservation for a group of 25 for Mother’s Day. The girl on the phone was very accommodating and said that she would set us up with one table that would seat 15 and one table that would seat 10. I called yesterday to confirm our reservation and change the number of our party from 25 to 20. Again the girl on the phone was super accommodating, she said that she would seat us indoors because there’s no reservations to be taken on the outside platform. She said she would do two tables of 10 each. Or if she could do one large table of 20. She would let us know the day of. I got a voice message today from the restaurant calling to confirm for only 10 people. I called back to advise them that the reservation was actually for 20 people. And they said that they could not accommodate our party and that they were never taking reservations over 10. Super poor customer service. I’ve been to Lake chalet before and had a good time and great food there. But what they did today was super disappointing and I feel like they were extremely fraudulent on the phone. My entire family was ready to come here on Mother’s Day to celebrate all of us moms. And because of this restaurants shotty customer service and lack of organizational skills , they totally screwed up Mother’s Day for us.
One of my favorite places in Oakland. This is my go to spot to being visitors to. Though pricing is a little bit much,the food does justify it.Great view of the lake as well, and relaxing ambience. Definitely a great place to wine and dine.
Our group was promptly seated and served. Ordered the Crab Cake Benedict which was amazing. Lovely view from outside tables.
We went for Prime Rib night. The Prime Rib itself was delicious and their salad was really great. Everything else was just alright. The Yorkshire Pudding though, has anyone who likes Yorkshire Pudding in tears of sadness. It was the consistency of a hockey puck. Again, if you know anything about Yorkshire Pudding. It should be the opposite of that. All and all probably won’t be heading back anytime soon.
We were a group of 7 that came in at various times and the waiter did his best to keep our orders coming in as fast and close as possible (it was also a VERY busy Saturday!) The alcoholic drinks were fantastic and the portions of meals were good size. However, the tables for larger groups are all quite close and it was very loud and difficult to hold conversations. But everyone had a great time!
