Fantastic restaurant! The staff are very friendly. Some of the best empanadas I have had in Northern California. The acarajé was also superbly well done, many rich flavors coming together in the fritter crust. I would definitely recommend if you would like to try Brazilian, Argentine, or Senegalese food
Very satisfying, the chicken breast and the beef empanadas I got were yummy and filling! Definitely will be back for more. Plenty of seating inside
We booked The Damel for our catering order for a team meeting for the first time. The service was excellent; Oumar was very responsive and professional over the phone and via email. The catering delivery was on time and the quality of the food was very good. We received so much positive feedback from our team members! Good quality for a reasonable price! I would highly recommend!
Canceled our order and never let us know. Slipshod and foolish customer service. Will never order from them again.
I always felt meh towards empanadas. Elsewhere, the empanadas always taste similar no matter what fillings I picked. BUT MY GOD, the empanadas here. I tried the lamb, the carne, and the spicy chicken. EACH ONE was unique and fantastic. And echoing others comments, their green sauce is the BOMB. together I fell in love with empanadas. Will be going back for sure.
I had the Dibi Khar meal with Pollo Picante empanada. Both were great and tasty. I am staying at the Marriott and Raymond was very courteous and made suggestions. When visiting downtown Oakland, give their restaurant a consideration......
It was my first time trying an empanada and I’m not disappointed. I ordered carne/beef one and it was so flavourful and their green sauce was just *chefs kiss*. The owner and the lady working there are so polite, I really love their behaviour towards customers. Only if I could give them 6/5 stars ?.
I love this food but the owner needs to talk to the workers. I'm here at 7:30 and they locked the doors. Supposed to be open till 8:30 and she's standing there looking at her phone...
The food is indeed very good, as a brazilian myself, here are some things I think could be better: the tapioca’s dado should be half of the size, part the pleasure of eating it it’s that has the same amount of softness inside and crunchiness outside. The coxinha has an amazing seasoning (the best I’ve tried outside Brazil), but it’s very doughy, needs the double of filling. Also the tapioca’s dado came missing the sauce.
Good empanadas. The chocolate and banana dessert one was well balanced. Need to try the non-empanada selections next time.
