The garlic noodles here are BOMB! The chew on the noodles is heavenly. It's pan-fried wheat noodles topped with fresh basil, roasted garlic, minced garlic, fish sauce butter, and parmesan cheese!Beef spring rolls were also very fresh and their peanut sauce was so good I wished I had ordered extra. They put something fried and crunchy in the roll which I never had before. It added a nice texture variation that I really enjoyed.Be patient as my take out order took around 30 min but I would say it was well worth it and I would go back to try other menu items.
I've never been to Vietnam. But, I feel like if I ever go, and the food is better than what we have here in the Bay, my stomach will be in big trouble from getting stuffed!Tay Ho is a exceptional Vietnamese restaurant in Oakland run by a mother and daughter team. They have many of traditional offerings you are able to get at most restaurants. But, they also make Northern Vietnamese style, fresh handrolled, steamed rice noodle rolls called - Bánh Cuốn. Two other items of tastiness:Bún Riêu- bowl of sweet spicy tomato flavor w/shrimp and crab cakes pork and blood pudding!Bánh Khọt- tasty and savory " mini" crispy pancakes w/ creamy center topped with shrimp, coconut and scallion sauceCan't wait to go back and try other delicious items off the menu!
This is my favorite place during my visit here. Love this place. Great menu. Super legit Vietnamese food here. Great bar. Great service. It's on a corner of 2 streets so should be good location. Can't wait to visit again. Check this out. Well worth it.
We had such a great experience at this restaurant! Felt like we traveled to Vietnam in the East Bay. The tapioca dumplings were amazing, and the pork belly was so great, we were glad that we worked up an appetite before arriving! We will definitely return to try the drinks, try more food, and enjoy the ambience. Also shout outs for the mural of Anthony Bourdain on the outside! Cheers.

Always a pleasure coming here - a real hidden gem if you're not in the know. Can't say enough good things about Tay Ho. We've been here at least half a dozen times and we're still discovering new menu items that quickly become favorites. The special rice plate has huge portions of three meats, all perfectly prepared. Pho is always great. And the wings! The wings are some of the best I've ever had - crispy, sticky, fish-saucy, spicy, and incredibly well-balanced. Phenomenal.
Make sure to ask for the house special chili sauce — if you like *truly* spicy things, it will change your life. I’m pretty sure I heard angels singing when I tasted it for the first time.Plus the waitstaff (and the bartender!) are incredibly charming — what’s not to like?
For a restaurant that was listed number 2 on the best Pho spots in Oakland I left very much disappointed. The prices are ridiculous for the portion sizes you get and the server we got that night was not very personable or service oriented. She was more focused on her cell phone. The soup was good, but not 22 dollars for a small bowl good. All in all a bowl of pho, a bowl of bun bo hue, and their "family style" curry catfish which was more coconut than catfish, ran us $100. I'm sticking to the mom and pop shops, the techies can go here to overpay.
The food was great, the waitress/host has opportunity for improvement. A colleague and I went for lunch, ordered our food, and ended up paying $71 for lunch. We did order two orders of spring rolls,Tai tea, a bowl of Pho, small bowl of rice and a the drunken beef with garlic noodles instead of rice. There were other setbacks but we never even got the rice lol. I won't be going back soon and if I do, I'm definitely going to have to confirm prices before confirming my order.
