Update 7/20/22: Had to get lunch here one last time before they close at the end of the month ? Got the pork chop bento and popcorn chicken, which were as good as I remember from the times I went weekly pre-covid.They make consistently great-tasting bentos. The space seems a little small at first, but they do have a seating area upstairs as well.
Sold on the Fried chicken bao and mala noodles and it’s what keeps me coming back! Noodles have a kick but so good. I’d skip on the pork belly bao but to each their own.
pork belly bao .... sooo tasty!!!!
They make the best pork belly baos I've ever tried. Every time I visit Oakland, I have to get an order.I also recommend their fried pork chop bento, OMG so delicious
What a delicious meal that was & it was made fresh to order, outstanding . We had the fried cutlet bento box, also the Miso soup, ohhh so good full if flavour. We would definitely recommend this place, try it, please, you won't be disappointed!!!!
Very legit. Order online so you don’t have to wait!
Overall great friendly service, authentic flavors, decent prices, and a quaint upstairs eating area. I docked off one star because I was expecting the rice to be hot but it was only a tad warmer than room temp. :/ I still had a good overall experience. Would go there again.
My long search for authentic Taiwanese cuisine in the Bay Area is finally satisfied. Can’t believe I had never run across this place (actually I can, they used to only be open M-F during the afternoons catering to the downtown Oakland workforce; even now they aren’t open weekends).Have gone twice and generally been very pleased. Tried the beef noodle soup, the pork belly, the lu rou fan, a couple of the noodle dishes, both gua bao’s and the wontons and each bite reminded me of my culinary adventures in Taiwan. Oh and the soy milk was delicious!Stacy the owner is really sweet and also Taiwanese, enjoyed my brief conversation with her.I would highly recommend this spot for a quick bite, really delicious!
Saw a segment about this place on Check Please Bay Area, and was definitely very happy finally getting to try it. Solid meal for decent prices and generous portions. Am very much looking forward to eating their bento again. I did notice it was a bit tricky to find parking near them, but that shouldn't stop anyone from trying them. I'll have to try some of their tea options next time!
I got the pork chop, the taste is very good but it was soggy. I am looking forward to going back and trying the beef noodle soup
