The food is delicious but I gave 3 stars because the service is terrible. If you have an issue with your order it's super hard to get in contact with someone. Also, if you order from Google or the website the pick up order time is almost always off. I've had to wait on average an additional 15-20 min from the pick up time and I end up getting semi cold food. And they pretty much never pay attention to special instructions or include requested additional sauces.
Alright place for a chicken BBQ sandwich.
Ordered here for the first time and it was good the chicken was done right and the sandwich had a good balance of flavor. The fries were also good I would of wished I got more for the price but other than that I would recommend it.
Woah! That fried chicken was literally perfect. The star sauce is delicious, chicken fried to perfection, i got a spicy chicken sandwich and one plain chicken tender.And it was ready hella fast, and when i waited in my car outside in the parking lot, i didnt feel unsafe. Actually my battery died and someone helped jump my car and they were really kind and it was like 10pm! Plus i like the locker system so i didn’t have to talk to anyone ?
That Starbird sauce is special. Mmhm!

Excellent vegetarian options available (Gardenbird). Food arrived a bit cold but probably because my delivery location was far away. The taste made up for it!
Went to Starbird in Oakland as part of the opening event - the week was dedicated for Yelp - and it showed. Boy was it busy!Note - there isn't a storefront. It's a pickup service, that services many restaurants. So when you go to pick up, please ensure to practice safety measures (it gets crowded).Also because this is a pick up location, I'm not sure how soon they call you - but we were there a few minutes from the time we got a pickup text, and our order was cold.Regardless . . . the food is AWESOME! We trekked to Oakland for Starbird, after trying their Campbell location.The best part of Starbird sandos: the bread! Always taste freshly baked. It's browned just right and soft on the inside. It also shaped like a french roll, which holds the sandwiches well. We're not trying to keep the sandwich from falling apart with every bite.Fried chicken has a great crunch, coated well, and doesn't taste oily / over fried. The chicken is good enough to eat on its own, but does taste just as great in the sandwiches.Nashville Hotbird: don't get scared, it's not too spicy. Has a nice kick, but won't set your mouth on fire. The Greek yogurt is spread evenly, which takes some of the heat off. It also gets a nice balance of salt, tang and freshness from the pickles and lettuce.BigStar: think of the basic starter of the chicken sandwiches and with tomatoes. And. . . it's full of flavor without the sauces, etc.Between the Campbell and Oakland location, the sandwiches were very consistent in taste, setup, and delivery.Luckily they are opening more locations in NorCal and will definitely see us more often!
GOOD FOOD. LONG WAIT IF YOURE RIGHT OUTSIDE.Continued...Been to almost all the Starbirds, and still love their chicken. Was my first time going to the Oakland location. Didn’t realize it was a pickup only, and warehouse type of location, as in you can only order online not at the counter. I guess it’s setup for businesses to buy large order pickups? I dig that. If I worked near there I would also order large orders. However, because of that, their WAIT TIMES are far longer than other Starbirds. Again, makes sense but when you place your order online it quotes you an estimated wait time of 6-ish minutes. Which is what it usually takes at other locations. So, my only complaint is that they correct that online thing, and accurately quote the wait time. Which was about 30 minutes. That way I would have ordered wayyy ahead of time.Oh and also my fries were reheated. Not stale. But having tried to reheat many a Starbird fry at home I know what a fry that has gotten cold and then been reheated tastes like.
You can only preorder online. and I got cold food.. Sad
