Sat outside and had some white wine and delicious snails with garlic butter and kumquat. We were asked to have vaccine cards checked even with outdoor seating. Overall a good experience.
The food gets three stars, but the customer service and the vibe made up for it. We ordered the cheese plate, olives, white asparagus and bread and butter. The asparagus was disappointing because of the overwhelming amount of liquid cheese on it. The bread and cheese were yummy. So we're the olives, but it didn't take any effort to cook anything so it is only somewhat impressive. What was great was how well the servers took care of us and especially the hostess, who was very welcoming and helpful. The people there were also friendly and everyone seemed to be having a good time. We only tasted the sparkling white Spanish wine. It was crisp and very yummy. I think I'll come back only for the wine and vibe.
This natural wine bar excels at delicious small plates that delight with their freshness. I'd say simplicity also, but I know that the appearance of simplicity is often quite complex!???The crudité was perfectly crunchy, yet blanched, and expertly salted. The white bean dish was hearty and enhanced with roasted & stewed peppers. The seeded bread was just plain delicious!??The cheeses were fantastic choices as well, and they went especially well with the orange "Queen Mum" wine from Slovakia, my favorite. My friend preferred "La Croisette" Altasse from France, but that was too sweet for me outside of a dessert menu. Neither of us cared for a red field blend from Languedoc, but I find it's rare that I love natural red wines.???That would absolutely not stop me from coming back to try pairing more with those great small plates! Get there early if you want a seat inside—it's a small space, which may be why this is at least the third business I've seen inhabit it! All of them have been good, just not good luck, I guess.??Who wants to help me give the Snail Bar some more good luck and return to try the escargot?
Small, cozy place that's authentic as hell. The wines are always changing and always interesting. The food is far, far better than any 'bar food' has a right to be. Get the Snails (obviously), oysters and the ham sandwich to see what they are all about but I have yet to try anything I haven't liked. It's a small place and it fills up quick so get there early!
I’ve been to Snail Bar twice and both times were extremely pleasant. The wait has been over 2 hours on a Friday night, but they have a text system so you can put your name in and check your spot in line while away from the restaurant. The staff is friendly and has great recommendations. The bottle shop is also awesome.
Such a great experience. Pricey but worth it for the unique bites and wine choices. Every dish we tried here became an instant favorite.
Delicately plated, strong attention to detail. Most dishes well balanced, maybe a little long on the sauce for the little gems.
Most exciting new place in the neighborhood! Killer selection of wines! Creative takes on classics like beef tartare served on seaweed toasts! If you like natural wines and european style tapas you’ll love this place!
Pricy, but the flavors are fantastic. Not salty, bright.
