The restaurant was 30ish percent full on a Friday night at 6 and the service was incredibly slow (waited 15 minutes after sitting down to even get water and menus) and the food was only okay. It was very hot out and the warriors game so might have been one off (other people have had great dinners here) but not worth the $140 for two appetizers and two entrees.
Croissants are amazing. But how they organize the service is not really efficient. You wait in line to order and hostess is slow. They should allow people to seat at tables and take orders from there.
Great wood fired pizza with creative toppings. The lamb ribs were awesome
I had a delightful experience for Sunday afternoon brunch here. The service was friendly, warm and on point. I ordered one of their brunch specials, Trout Toast, and it was divine. I kept watching the service walk by with other plates of goodness and it all looked pretty amazing. I think I'm going to try that breakfast egg sandwich next.
Have heard good things but really dissatisfied with the overall experience. The trout appetizer and the drinks were good but the pizzas were sub par. Overloaded with ingredients making them soggy. I will say the crust was flavorful but it didn’t get a chance to shine much since it was undercooked in a lot of areas. On top of that the night I went they had this synth techno playing that would have been great if I was in a Berlin nightclub, but was beyond irritating in a dinner setting. On top of that they only played the same three songs over and over. It got so bad that multiple tables complained and we ended up leaving as quickly as possible because it was driving us nuts. Also they seem understaffed. Our waitress was doing her best, but it took her 10 min just to greet our table and we had to flag her down several times for things. Overall Sister left a bad impression on me and I doubt I’d go back. Giving 2 stars vs 1 because the cocktails and the bread were excellent.
Most of the entrees are pizza. Wine Wednesdays are half off bottles, and most are the same price anyway. Heaters outside are wall mounted and pretty far from the tables. Plenty of parking in the public lot next door. Many tables inside.
We had a delicious egg sandwich on homemade bread, and a savory porridge for breakfast.
One of my favorite places at Grand Lake area. The ambiance is great and food is delicious. Prices are reasonable and food is delicious.
The food is good, but the portions are small bites at full plate prices. The service was also a bit slow. We waited quite a while for drinks (which came out wrong) and we had to ask for water about 4 times before we finally received a pitcher. The cocktails were good so we'll stop in here again for a drink, but will likely pass on another dining experience.
Forgot to take a pic of the menu but orderedEggplant dish, bucatini, Lamb with natural wineService was amazing! I would give 5 star for the service there. Wine rec from the waitress changed my perspective on natural wine too, so big 5 stars! However, food was mediocre.most importantly, portions were WAY too small for the price. To go through the dishes I had first,Eggplant - my facial expression when I saw the dish could’ve been a meme cuz it was full of disappointment. Portion was WAYYY too tiny.Bucatini - bucatini was cooked perfect al Dante but the sauce was way too dry. portion for this was perfect but wish the dish had a bit more creaminess with uni butter.Lamb - this tasted perfect but again the portion was tiny for the price.Overall ratingI think sister restaurant needs to make it clearer in their direction of whether they are aiming for fine dining vs. casual dining. The whole vibe of the restaurant is casual, but the price is not. Price aims upscale dining experience with the food being tiny, but the problem is, it does not taste like fine dining or upscale restaurant quality. I think the overall dishes tasting mediocre with the portion being small was a key factor for giving 3 stars.
