This place was good but only good! It's website and advertising had me expecting greatness but all around we were disappointed. The food was good but arrived cold and not what we ordered. They were packed and couldn't handle it at all. The entire staff was on their edge and trying to keep it together.All in all a good breakfast, lovely staff, great neighbourhood location, just too busy to be great.
Good food. However for the price the portions should be larger. Also they automatically add a percentage to every check. This is really confusing because it's hard to know if one is double tipping. They call it a living wage or something. They should just pay their employees more and let customers tip accordingly. Most likely won't go back.
The French toast was Amazing. Made us so happy. Came in reasonable time. We waited a looong time after for our two mains which were carefully ordered, mine a la carte, my friend’s with toast rather than biscuit. The main orders not only arrived after a long wait but were wrong and mine was cold to the touch. It also took a special flag to a person to get our requested cream for chilling coffee. The orders were corrected in time but at no point were we offered any recompense. The bill includes a mandatory 20% tip. After over 2 1/2 hours and poor service it was not a great first experience at this Resturant. $52
I had the experience of dining at the Sequoia diner on March 31 9:00 AM Jasmine was the only server and the only person working in the front at the time she was very attentive very patient and very hospitable. I'm not sure why she was the only one working but she made sure to greet everyone, she did not miss a beat even though she was the only staff working the front catering to a full house. she is the reason I will be coming back. She is the epitome a black girl magic. Thank you jasmine for your warm spirit this morning

Food is okay but the hostess really wants to feel important - 50% of seats are completely empty and not for covid spacing as they were ultimately being filled but older ladies were being forced to sit awkwardly in the entry way not knowing who to even speak to. Felt very bad for them.

Tighten up your Sunday brunch service. Took forever to get two measly mimosas after our entire table of 9 was already served. Abysmal amount of menu and cocktail items were not available. Overall lack of organization.
Lovely diner, delicious food, and wonderful staff. A friend invited me for brunch, and my food was so good that I cleared my entire plate before she made it even halfway through hers. I’ll definitely be back! The turmeric drinks and lattes were also delightful!
