Went here on a whim not expecting much but I was blown away! The garlic noodles and basil chicken were super flavorful and plated beautifully. A hidden gem.

The food, ambiance and service was excellent. The location was great, nestled in an up and coming foodie/bar area in Oakland. Would recommend as a date night!

We tried the 6-course Chef's tasting menu and it was fantastic! We particularly liked the hamachi, the miso sea bass, the beef with lemon wasabi, and the scallops. It was a lot of food and everything was tasty. The service was also attentive. We will return!

Awesome little spot in Oakland. Food was delicious but a little pricey. Portions were of average size. Waiter was attentive and nice. Overall a good experience. We’ll most likely be back should we be in the neighborhood.

Not your typical Asian/Japanese restaurant. While the ingredients and techniques come from Asia, Saucy puts their own spin on everything with excellent results. My wife and I had the Chef's Tasting Menu: 7 courses and not a grain of rice on any of them (unless you count the sake paired with each course!) Dessert was cheesecake and one of the better bread puddings I have had in the Bay Area. Asian food without rice and with bread pudding? Not typical but very, very tasty! They did a great job making the tasting menu work for our dinner. I am allergic to bi-valves, seaweed and ginger while my wife loves all of these things. So creating an Asian themed meal for me is not a simple thing. Every course met my limitations while my wife loved the Asian flavors. Meal was a very good value for the quality. Try Saucy before they realize this and raise the prices!

Amazing food! Great service, they even accommodated my request for low carb options. This is a must try restaurant!

Overall, an enjoyable experience though a bit disappointing. The chef’s tasting menu offered a variety of bites though the several courses felt a bit disjointed. One of the main courses was much too salty - after a few bites, I found it inedible. What was more disappointing was that our server asked if everything was ok, apologized and that was the extent of the discussion. I don’t recommend the chef’s tasting menu. Next time, I’ll try ordering off of the main menu.

Cute local restaurant. Food was great- lots of different flavors, textures, good potions. Staff was friendly. Lovely atmosphere.

Not going to sugar coat it, Saucy is one of the best restaurants in Oakland!Their new location boasts subtle, simple vibes in an intimate setting. The aesthetic is crisp and you can smell all the amazing smells coming from the kitchen. There are two dining options, a pre fixe menu or a la cart. We went a la cart the first time around and got basically everything on the menu. The standout? The Hamachi shooters, the Saucy Wings, and the Garlic Noodles. Do not sleep on these. The Hamachi was incredibly fresh, hit with a light tangy ponzu and some crunchy garlic. The wings were sticky, crunchy and incredible. The garlic noodles were some of the best I've ever had. Also, if you're still hungry after those plates, get the Thai corn dogs. The pork and lemongrass nestled inside a perfectly fried batter...omg.You've gotta get Saucy!

The food was absolutely exquisite and surprising from this sweet little restaurant in Oakland!
