They’re never open. I tried again this Saturday - checked the hours on Google and on their website, just to be sure. They said they’d be open till 3pm. I got there at 12pm and there was already two people trying to get in, but it was closed! The one and only time they were open, the girl behind the counter was hanging with two of her friends and ignored me. I finally asked if I could order and she said they were closed, even though their hours said they would be open for another hour, which I said. She just said “we closed early”. My boyfriend has also tried many times to go, but every time, it was closed.
Best sandwiches and nicest folks in Oakland. Hands down. Get the pastrami!
Local cafe with a town feel. Location is nice. Friendly staff. Able to eat inside or outside. Sandwich was tasty. Pricey. Fresh. And messy. Make sure to grab a handful of napkins before you indulge.
Rooz means day in farsi. The owner is a very cool man and his whole team especially the warm young man who greets you — is a gem in Oakland culture. Not to mention the drinks are dirt cheap and delicious. They know their craft having been in Oakland for over 30 years ( the owner)I recommend their sandwiches. Especially the pesto egg.Do yourself a favor and visit. They have great ambiance, service and food.
Super Friendly service, very fresh ingredients, they receive their breads daily from House of bagels in Alameda – the owner is Iranian and very accommodating. It is a very clean space and has outdoor seating. Highly recommend.
such a great neighborhood spot. bomb sandwiches. can't wait til i can sit and read my book while sippin espresso inside again. but in the meantime they got tables out on the sidewalk. much love.
Awesome folks behind the counter, tasty sandwiches, and excellent coffee. And during non COVID times, the best coffee shop ambiance featuring local art, the occasional soccer game, and good tunes.
Total hit or miss, but usually hit. 3 orders of food and the last order will always take 20+min... However prices are great for what you get, although I've had the bfast sandwiches 20x and every. Single. Time. They have been somewhat different. Not a complaint tho, it's always good. Coffee game is solid.
Always comfortable
I recently moved in the neighborhood and I was happy to see that there is a nice cafe near by. I tried to get coffee twice before today but the hours on google were not aligned with the actual working hours (because of COVID). Ok, I understand that not everybody cares about this.Today I arrived at the place and a guy greets me upfront saying - I am sorry we are closed. I was confused... What time do you close?! 3PM he answers. Wait, what time is it? 2:50 he replies... I look at my phone and I say - its actually 2:43... Anyway, I walked back home. Took the car and drove downtown and order a coffee at Blue Bottle. I looked at my phone when I ordered and it was 3:00, and got my coffee by 3:02. I guess what I am trying to say is - updated your hours and if you wanna close at 2:40 say you work until 2:40. I get it is COVID time and everyone is on the edge, none wants to work. But be honest. Don't waist my time too.
