Cute cafe near a favorite yarn store. Really appreciated being able to use the restrooms before ordering. Clean place with a cheery decor. Lots of cute places to sit or snap a pic. Popular spot with a stout line when we visited. Lots of options listed on the huge menus above the coffee bar. Also a few outside seats, perfect for a lovely action snack.
I love this place, it's super convenient and right around the corner from my house. The only reason I don't give it a full 5 stars is because sometimes the staff are rude. I remember on two separate occasions. I understand, I work in customer service and sometimes we just have a bad day, but I think it's important to push through it or remove yourself from the floor if you aren't going to be greeting customers in a friendly way. Food service is slow a majority of the time, takes like 20 mins for a sandwich to come out which is another disappointment. I notice this isn't the first time the speed of service has been criticized. It's rarely busy also so it is a bit uncomfortable that it takes as long as it does to get food or drinks.There could be more seats near outlets, or if they could install some more that would be great as a majority of the people go there to work on their laptops and whatnot.Also another area for improvement could be the kids play area. I have nearly broken an ankle trying to walk over the toys that are left out all over the floor, not just designated in the play area but literally in the walk way. Maybe making sure customers with kids clean up after themselves. That could cause serious injury.
Awesome cafe in North Oakland. Fun music, super friendly staff.Had the Breakfast Burritto and my boyfriend had the Egg Sandwich. Both on point. Drinks came out a little slow but understood. Place was jammin' busy on a Sunday. Our cappuccinos some of the best coffee we've had in the bay area since moving to this area. Croissants were huge!
I order two drinks and pancakes and a sandwich which took 15 minutes to give us our food— I understood they were busy.However, I found it outrageous that one of my drinks (a mocha-chia smoothie) is taking approximately 25 minutes to prepare meanwhile five customers have passed me and have gotten their drinks including some smoothie.I have already completed half of my meal once the smoothie arrived.Food was great , wait time upsetting including the service they providedUpdate:Thank you staff for responding. I will definitely have to return since the food was worth the wait and I understand per the pandemic the situation has been tough for our small businesses. Food was really good. Really good coffee. I had a great pancake and breakfast bagel with my partner.Where they lacked was their service.I was done with my coffee by the time the food arrived and my partner’s smoothie didn’t come out until after we finished our meal. The attitude of the staff was very indifferent and it seemed like they wanted to clock out.The food is great but not good enough to make up for the rude service.
Nice outdoor seating area. Indoor has outlets for people who want to work. I ordered the bagel sandwich. Overall solid sandwich. I wish there was more sauce and the bagel was softer. Otherwise, the tots were also good. I also ordered the pear smoothie. Not bad but not amazing either. Overall, chill and standard cafe spot to hang out.
I ordered the Grass Fed burger, medium rare. Order was perfectly cooked, burger was flavorful and juicy. The fried onions on top were a bit excessive in amount, but it was still all very yummy.
This café has everything you could want.The lattes and cappuccinos and coffee are the best.And they roast their own coffee!The breakfasts are wonderful. The breakfast sandwich is a top-seller and totally worth it!!!If you are a lover of Tater-tots this is your place too!!!There is a vegan menu, a great breakfast menu, and lunches are superb.It's also locally owned and the staff and owners give back to the community so much that this is a neighborhood institution by now.Plus the vibe there is so chill and nice.They also provide a small play area for the kids which is wonderful.If you are in the area... saunter over and relax with some great food and great folks!
The best coffee and cafe in the area. Super friendly service, delicious choice foods. Totaquilas, matcha latte, oatmilk latte, Paradise salad.
Paradise is my go to place whenever I’m in Oakland. Salads are to die for and their Lox and bagel breakfast is the best in town. Staff is sooo nice and never an attitude like some places.A total fave!
