Great restaurant
The service was friendly and efficient. The staff made us feel very welcome. The food was delicious and well presented. This is a new go to for us!
The service was excellent, and the food was lovely. Small menu, but everything we had was good. The only downside was our main entree, steelhead trout, did not come out of the kitchen after we'd finished our appetizers. We must have waited 40 minutes for it. There is no explanation for why, but it could have been that it was busy as there was a show at Fox Theatre that night.
Fantastic service, ambience, location. Excellent value for fresh, approachable yet unique options. Crispy tofu, NY strip, shrimp cocktail and duck fat fries. All are a must try.
Everyone was great! Will return!
Tamara was fantastic!
In a word: underwhelmed. Really wanted to like it. And will give it another chance. But. My primary grievance is with the chef. Billed as a steakhouse, the NY strip was just under $50, with inflation thatâs fair. But I still expect high level service. I simply asked to switch out the potatoes for a lentil purée they offered with other entrees and the server simply said the chef doesnât do substitutions. I suggested perhaps she ask the kitchen for an exception and she came back, and said they still said âno.â (Server was right!). Management needs to be more flexible. People have dietary preferences. This was a same-cost swap. Most good restaurants do this when spending $200 plus w tip and drinks for 2. Not too much to ask. The steak was cooked properly, but the meat itself was nothing exceptional ( Again expecting steakhouse standards) Other nits: server (who must have been new) didnât know what kind of Vodka they had. This from a restaurant owned by a former bar manager. Little thing. But great restaurants do the little things. Fun decor, nice hostess, excellent mussels, great cheesecake. Just had higher expectations.
Palmetto has a fun, buzzy vibe (think Miami art deco) and it definitely seems popular. Our server was friendly and helpful, though the bartender was not so friendly. As for the food, I thought it was fine, but nothing special. I had a little gem salad that was drenched in dressing and was unremarkable. I also had a steak that was a little tough and that could have used more seasoning or some more sauce. The french fries were excellent.
Great Bartender (buzz cut red head) = Great drinks! As we say where I'm from "that boy is good!"
Well,we finally got to Palmetto for prime rib night. It made me wonder why we had not gone sooner. The food was fabulous.Absolutely delicious roast beef. The martini wasn't too bad either-lol!
