One of our go to Thai spots in Oakland. Nice people, very good food (I'm a fan of their Tom Kha soup and curries). Comforting decor; relaxing and personal. Generally street parking is not difficult.

Not knowing their schedule, the third time was a charm. The food is delicious. I tried a variety of things on the menu, and everything that was we ordered was great!! Plz support this gem you won"t be disappointed.

The most flavorful Thai food in the area. We had spring rolls, curry and roti, papaya salad, spicy basil rice, red chicken curry, pad Thai, green beans. The small place is tastefully decorated and takes you back to the east.
An absolute magical place - like out of a fairy tale - fab to do with our friends. The Pompano was so fresh and looked like a pile of jewels and the quail, curries and egg rolls delish.

I've been having a rotten time trying to visit the Old Weang Ping. For me it's a 15-20 minute walk each way. About 30% of the time they're not open during their posted hours. I've been calling in advance and the phone just hangs up on me after a ring or two each time for the past few months. Today after three calls from my cell phone, I tried from my school desk phone and they answered! I went and told the lady there and she said that they didn't hang up on me. I called from my phone and heard it ring in the restaurant and told the lady that was my number and her eyes rolled. I just left and plan never to return. Don't know what's up. I've always been polite, tipped, never anything other than yes please and no thank you. Not sure what's up but I'm done with them. The food is good. But not worth wasting an entire lunch break without getting lunch each time or being hung up on every time I call from my cell.

Over priced considering they don't give you any napkins or utensils and the service is very unwelcoming and unfriendly. This place was better back in the days. Dont bring kids here either. I won't be coming back due to the service.
