Wow. I was very politely asked to wear a mask to order a cup of coffee to go, which is not consistent with county policy. I very politely declined and told the staff member I would go somewhere else for a $3+ cup of coffee. The inanity of the situation is that there were two customers drinking coffee in the shop. Interestingly, they didn't have their masks on. More covid theater. I went around the corner to a different coffee shop where there were considerably more customers who were free to choose whether they wanted to wear a mask.

Love finding places with creative, tasty seasonal lattes. If you go with an iced drink I'd recommend asking for an additional shot of espresso. We have had their maple rosemary latte (both iced and hot--prefer it hot), black molasses latte (iced), and their burnt cinnamon latte (iced).Our favorite so far has been the maple rosemary.
The staff are super friendly, the service is fast, and the coffees are good. Oh, and they also have some interesting choices in coffee, and keep it fresh by changing up the menu here and there from time to time. We go there at least 2-3 times a week.Ps the banana bread is also great
1,000,000% recommend! Matcha is so hit or miss to find a good one, and moderns is amazing!! The baristas are so sweet in letting my friends and I come here all the time right before closing!! Come here!!
They have the best chai ever! I was honestly surprised by how good the chai is. It's my favorite item on the drink menu. Honestly, I recommend skipping the snacks and the "baked goods" they have. They don't make it in house and it's not appealing. Stick to the drinks. This is also a good place to be productive, work remotely or meet a friend. This place has a great vibe and good wifi.
Smoothest latte I’ve ever had. Great ambiance lots of seating options. Delicious ham and cheese croissant!
Probably one of the best coffees in Oakland, hands down. Great baristas, excellent service by Kristen and Martina.
I have been coming to this cafe very frequently to study and get some work done. It is an amazing environment with wonderful staff, especially Sofia, Alex, and Kate. They are very nice and friendly. They know how to put a smile on your face. You will never be disappointed by coming here. I would also really recommend trying their Matcha latte.
