Very yummy food! Authentic pure teff injeras too (so, gluten-free). Staff was very friendly too :)

The food and service was amazing. The woman who cooks the food and run the place was incredibly kind and thoughtful. The food was gorgeous and tasted absolutely amazing!

So glad we stopped in here for some excellent Ethiopian food. We had to get to a show so only had a limited amount of time to eat. We ordered the chicken wings and samosas to start. The samosas were fantastic and petite in size. I had the chicken tibs and my husband had the lamb. We opted to have it come out on one platter. Everything came out very quickly and tasted fabulous! I asked for mild spice and it was perfect. Both dishes had an incredible depth of flavor! The Injira was perfect and the service was attentive.

The dinner experience for the first time at Mela was amazing! The chickpea gravy (Shiro Wot) was very flavorful and delicious. It was a great additional sauce on the top of veggie platter. The restaurant is very clean and well decorated. Can’t wait to try different dishes next time!

The chef and her team genuinely cares about curating a great dining experience and sharing Ethiopian food and culture with people. The space is thoughtfully decorated and the brunch is delicious. Highly recommend the fūl and avocado hash browns!

This place is so good. I’ve been searching for seafood dishes and found fish and shrimp. The mushroom kitfo was also to die for. I wish this place was closer to me, I’d be here all the time. The vibe inside is really nice, love the lighting and decor. Service is a little slow so come here ready to take your time and enjoy your company! I can’t wait to come back.

The food is incredible and the service is great!

Visiting Oakland from Atlanta so decided to tryMela Bistro with a group of friends for Brunch and we were extremely impressed!Simply blown away with the amount of breakfast options listed, never been to restaurant that served Genfu/Ge’at! That is as traditional as it gets and it was delicious. The pancakes (add fruit!), Mimosa (Ethiopian style yummy), Latte & Ful were excellent options as well - my mouth is watering as I type! The service/ambiance were fantastic & will certainly be back to try soon.

I really liked the food. They are fresh. Ok got veggie plate and cobed ahi tuna. Everything was really good, but sauce on the tuna was too heavy for the fish, it's personal preference. Fish was really fresh.

Service was amazing. I loved the vibes inside. I got the lamb dish, and it was phenomenal 10/10. The meat was perfectly cooked, and the spices were all mixed perfectly. I’m not a salad person, but this salad was so yum LOL. We also got the veggie platter, and it was good but not to my taste. Most of the curries were served cold. I would definitely go again for the lamb:)
