I was there a almost 2 years back and it was amazing but wait it gets better. My order arrived today and I am in heaven!! Polar bear cupcakes are super moist and the flavor is so yummy. Focaccia bread was flavorful and great for dipping in a Rosemary oilve oil with balsamic vinegar n spices. The cherry on top of the was the Pain Au Chocolat croissants though!! Put in the air fryer @ 400° for 2-3 mins. Servered with 2 sliced strawberries with whipped cream top with a light dusting of powdered sugar...heavenly, just heavenly!! Ordering again and frequently! Thank you for being so wonderful!
I happened to be in Berkeley to try a new nail salon. I was in the mood for a gluten free donut. Mariposa bakery popped up in my Google search. All I saw were chocolate donuts which is not my favorite. However I found many other goodies that I had been looking for along with some pleasant surprises. Cinnamon roles, pie crust, pumpkin muffins, spinach lasagna, and of course bread to make sandwiches for lunch. You can even get some food made there. I wasn’t hungry yet but since they had a Turkey Rueben on the menu I couldn’t pass that up so I took it to go and eat later. I will definitely be back.
Very small and cozy bakeshop. Never try the gluten free bread but all their products are gluten free.
What bakery opens at 10am. No use getting your fresh made morning needs met here. I have come in late in the day and gotten a few items. Eating them that night or the next morning they feel like day olds. There items are many item but not many egg free optionsTho is dose seem they are the only option in the bay. Sad
I bought their croissants, rye bread and king cake to ship a few states away. All shopping is one to two days and arrives fresh. A bit on the pricey side (normal for gluten free baked goods) but absolutely worth it. The croissants were buttery and were a hit with my gf friends and non gf friends. Warm in the microwave for 15 seconds or toast them in the oven. The rye bread tastes like pumpernickel bread and loved the caraway seeds. I could finally have a reuben sandwich again. I highly recommend them. You will not be disappointed.
Mariposa is my go-to for Christmas Eve orders for a friend with celiac. The apple-cranberry pie is always great, as are the tea cookies. I miss the holiday yule log they used to sell, though.
I LOVE Mariposa because their food is great and it’s celiac-safe! My one complaint is that it’s hard to get people to go with me because the sandwiches take so long to get made. I wish we could order sandwiches ahead of time or have a faster way of getting them made.
Hands down the best gluten free bakery I've found. High quality food with lots of options and really kind staff. It's a bit pricey, but worth it for tasty treats or a special weekend breakfast.
Some of the best gluten free baked goods I’ve found anywhere! I’m still dreaming of the bagels and Viennese tea cookies. It’s a blessing and a curse that they ship around the country. I might have to start spending too much on bagel deliveries.
If you aren't rating Mariposa 5 stars then you haven't eaten one of their Viennese tea cookies. I'm someone who typically prefers savory but those cookies are really unique, and clearly better than anything similar I ate in Vienna. Their coffee is good too!
