Some of the best pizza you can get in Oakland, if not the whole Bay Area! I’m from the Midwest and finding a good pizza place has been a struggle for the last 7 years. This place does not disappoint. A common problem from other pizza places in the bay is that they are overly greasy or too cheesy or skimp out on toppings and just have bad crust. Leaning Tower gets high a grade on all these points. Highly recommend.
Was stoked about getting a sourdough crust pizza, but when I get there they are still coronaphobic and don't want any public interaction. They told me go to a website and order. I couldn't navigate to the actual menu and obviously nobody wanted to help me. With signs of the plandemic subsiding this place looks to keep there business the same, why pay someone to take an order? why pay someone to work a register? or even have w register? why pay a bus boy? More money in their pockets as I doubt they dropped the price of a pizza.
Wow, this place is low-key serving the best pizza in the bay. If you like a thin pie, this pizza is fantastic.
the pizza is genuinely the best in the bay. the problem is the service. slow, inattentive, lazy, and uninvolved. they need to hire people who care and aren't just wasting time. for instance: they said my pizza would be ready at 6:50. i get there at 6:50 exactly. they say "it'll be 8-15 minutes". ok no biggie. then i wait half an hour and stand at the door. nobody shows up and a line of people picking up forms behind me. then after another extra 10 minutes (so its now 7:30), he gives me my pizza and it's cold. the disorganization and lack of attention during covid specifically is quite bad. if they hired people who actually cared about the work they are doing, this would be a 10/10 perfect joint. but unfortunately this cold pizza incident isnt even the first of its kind. very sad.
This is the spot in Oakland. Just had it after moving in from Chicago. I had a feeling after looking at their menu. If you have to wait, it's because the pizza they make is made really well behind-the-scenes. I got my pizza made sooner than the app scheduled too.
A real gem. I’m addicted to the Detroit pizza. Cool, authentic, and a little funky. Be patient, it’s worth it.
Good pizza, very thin crust. I like thin crust but this is more thin than normal. Still tasty, just not a ton of options for slices. That may change in the future though.
Great pizza. Kind of a New Haven style pizza. Really good. Big salads (enough for like 3 or 4 people).
Really enjoying this small local spot. Their prices are reasonable and include tax which is nice. The Margherita pizza is my favorite. I've yet to try their coffee but will definitely be back soon to give it a go!
Amazing place. Get a pizza to go and eat it at Lake Merritt with your friends or family. 10/10
