staff are very Friendly and Food was great! Its in a Scenic location walking distance to the beautiful Oakland Lake Merritt.
My oldest daughter loves this place. Weekends they serve a crabcake eggs Benedict that is really good. Their potatoes are cooked well and are delicious. You can't beat this place for breakfast and I bet their lunch is just as awesome
The entired staff are friendly.. Tony, the owner, provides u great service and will follow your request without hesitation... food is really good ?
Food is Delicious ♥️ Place seems pretty popular. Being in downtown Oakland, you definitely get a lot of "interesting" people. #MENTALILLNESSISREAL So with this type of traffic, I understand the anxiety this place might feel on a day to day basis. However, I placed an order and requested condiments on the side. When my plate was served, 1 condiment was drenched over the food. When I told the server (who was not the waitress that took my order), she literally yelled at me. Calmly I tried to explain to her what I asked for after giving her the plate and she came back to aggressively holler at me in my face as if I was the one who made the mistake. I was very upset. They fixed the food & brought it back to me. When the initial waitress came back to check on us, I told her what had happened as I was still very much offended. Her response was: I just came over to make sure the food was okay. I told her, I just told u one of your people yelled at me in my face & you keep asking me about the food. That's not right. Finally she said, Oh I am sorry that happened to you. I did not know she did that. I just want to make sure everything is okay. I seriously felt dismissed. There was no accountability. And I could have easily matched that energy. I chose not too. I feel like the times I experienced this place were good, up until this day. Perhaps someone was having a bad day or encountered another customer that wasnt so pleasant, but that customer was never me and I didnt deserve that. Its places like this that folks look forward to coming to. Lakeshore Cafe is 1 of the places that represents for Oakland's Pride. But if we keep experiencing issues like this and no accountability- Oakalnd won't have too much more to be proud of.
Sat in the back patio and ate breakfast with my bf. The food was amazing. We got the California omelette and the french toast with bananas and strawberries. Highly recommend both.

My wife and I were visiting our son in Oakland. We have been here once before and loved it. Reviewing them now because of the consistency: good food, excellent / efficient / very friendly service. Will definitely be back.

Drove 14 hours for a music festival and ate here the morning of the festival. Food was some of the best I've ever had, especially as far as breakfast food goes. I forgot the name already, but the meal with the salmon helped in no small part to set the course for a wonderful day. I'm not even a potato fan but I CLEARED those things so fast. If I'm in the area again, 200% chance I'm coming back.
