Cool place with friendly service and good food. Service model is a little weird. Mains came first, apps next, drinks last. Thatâs a first for me. Server never checked back until we were done. I saw that style happen to the next group that came in so maybe that just the way they do it.
I just go for the oxtails and plantains. They are amazing. They fall off the bone and damn near melt in your mouth. The oxtails NEVER disappoint.
The music was so loud we had trouble hearing our dinner companions. By the end of dinner our ears were ringing. The bill came out with prices that varied from the menu ,but it was so loud that we just wanted to get out of the restaurant. It did not matter that no one asked if we wanted dessert. Overall very uneven.
Ambience with good food was tasty the rice and peas were amazing waitress was very attentive drinks for a very strong and delicious
The best Jamaican food Iâve had stateside! Wonderful service, great drinks. A definite must have every time we come to the Bay!
The oxtails with rice and peas is always perfection
We had the jerk chicken with rice & peas + plaintains and sauteed green beans as well as the curry vegetables. They were both fairly good. I like my rice a bit less sticky but that is a matter of taste as some folks prefer sticky over loose. The green beans were well flavored and sufficiently but not overly spicy. Service was timely and courteous. I would recommend.
It was so hot inside! Couldnât wait to leave.
This is the first Jamaican restaurant I've been to with a place to dine in and eat! Good ample seating, clean, and the food came out quick. The waitress was nice. The drinks were strong AF. Had to tone it down. The vibe was loud and cheerful. First Friday festival was taking place and it was great. You can bring the family. Good portions !
This is my favorite restaurant in Oakland! Brought my parents here (visiting for the first time) and they loved it as well - best restaurant of their trip!
