To start with, this is a good place to get barbecue. My rating is lower because of the investment you have to make to get the food.I had the brisket sandwich and a small side of Mac n cheese. The Mac n cheese was delicious and I highly recommend it. The brisket sandwich was good. The staff was very nice, even handing out bottles of water to the people waiting in line on a hot day.My issue is that I stood in line for a little over an hour to get the food. I just don’t think it’s that good.

It was okay BBQ, smoked chicken had an okay flavor and was just a little dry. The beef rib was over salted and the brisket tasted okay. The sides were pretty much made with salt and I had to use banh mi bread to make it edible. The only saving grace was the pulled pork which I thought was worth the price but not the wait.It gets two starts because for $140 bucks and a 1 hour wait time it definitely was not worth it. They also don't measure their half lbs and they eye-balled a lot of their cooking when you watched them prepare their sides.I heard radical reviews and saw videos on this place and even though I've curved my expectations from legit Texas bbq, it still falls short for the price point and the wait.I'd go to try it but don't splurge, split your orders family style and see if it's your cup of tea.

Horn Barbecue deserves every award it has won, and the crazy wait to order food is justified. It's a barbecue lover's heaven.Pulled pork (5 out of 5): Tender, succulent pulled pork that's best eaten with BBQ sauce drizzled on top. This dish reminds me of Hawaiian Kahlua pig, but even more juicy if you can believe it.Brisket (5 out of 5): Juicy and extremely tender brisket. Melts in your mouth.Ribs (4.5 out of 5): Ribs on the bone smothered in BBQ sauce.Sausage (4 out of 5): Personal preference, but not my favorite. Sausages in general just wasn't as tender and juicy as the other meats.Mac and Cheese (4.5 out of 5): Absolutely delicious.

I lived in Houston Texas for 6 years. So listen up guys and gals. This place is hands down the best Texas bbq place I've tried in north California. I had pork ribs and jalapeneo-cheddar links. Ribs were tender and juicy and tasted amazing. I also got the potato salad and cole slaw and they were lovely. Will be back soon. Oh, btw the indoor sitting is not available due to covid precautions but they have a nice backyard with tables and benches were you can sit and enjoy your meal while looking at their grills :)

On par with real Texas BBQ! We got the brisket, pulled pork, cheesy potatoes, and collared greens. Phenomenal. The story behind Matt Horn and his craft makes the experience extra special as well. Lived up to the hype and excited to bring all my Southern BBQ snobs when they come visit :)

So good! Best bbq I've had in the Bay Area since Smokey J's closed a few years ago. The chicken, brisket, sausages, corn bread and banana pudding were terrific. Wouldn't have gotten the chicken but the chef gave us a sample and it was so moist and flavorful. Sitting outside on the picnic tables was nice too.

The Beef Ribs ($45) and Brisket ($17 per half pound) are hits at this Texas style BBQ place located in and industrial part of Oakland. I ordered the fatty brisket because the regular cut didn’t look marbled when I was in line. Bring your Keto diet and enjoy.

Brisket is really good if you do a-la-cart. For some reason the brisket is super dry and chewy in the brisket sandwich. Hotlink was awesome

I waited for this place to be established for a while and visit it.It took 1 hour for my place in line (+/- 30 feet) to reach the counter. There are no chairs for you to seat and you are at the mercy of weather hitting you head on.Menu is very limited (seen photos) but the food is very good and I have to break my opinion down:I don't eat red meat but my wife does and for her, who is a serious carnivore, I got the Brisket sandwich. She was delighted with that. For her the cooking was excellent.I had the chicken but wasn't so crazy about it. It was good but not worth of 1 hour standing up on a line under the Sun.There is no indoor seating at this time but you may find a seat at one of the many tables they have outside.Service is basic: stay in your place on the line outside until you get to the counter and order, step to the side to pay, wait for it and out of the door you go. Either home or to the tables outside. No delivery! No Phone Orders!

I REALLY wanted to love this place, but the brisket and ribs were DRY. The chicken and pulled pork were great though. For the sides the mac and cheese was subpar but then again I have very high standards for mac n cheese and am often disappointed when I eat it outside of my home. The collard greens and beans were on point! We got there at 10:30 am and got out with our food around 11:40 am. For ~$140 in food I expected better. I will be back for a second chance with my mom though. I hope we catch the brisket on a better day.
