Okay tasting Mac n cheese. The portion seemed like too much. It’s what you would eat in two or three sittings. Definitely after a couple of bites in it seemed to make me feel sick almost like the ingredients were clashing against each other. Would I order from here again? Possibly and even then I would do so with some caution. Maybe a less wild Mac n cheese would taste better.
Came here after the game and it was good, albeit a bit pricey for mac and cheese. Waiter was friendly and they offer a QR code to show what they offer. I recommend trying this place, especially if you love mac and cheese.
Absolutely delicious! One of my favorite places to go to in Oakland. I took one star off because I was actually shocked there is a mandatory LIVING WAGE SURCHARGE of 5%! That’s right, aside from tipping (which the servers deserve) why am I the one who is forced to pay a living wage to their employees when it should be the businesses duty to pay their employees properly.
Limited menu and on point dishes! Also, the service is really good here. We had the Crab Mac & Elote Bowl; both were amazing.
I am generally not a fan of plain mac and cheese but Homeroom just takes it to a different level by providing a variety of flavorful mac and cheese. My friends and I tried 4 different mac and cheese dishes and every single one of them was awesome. They have a wide selection of additional toppings. Also, fast and friendly service.
Came here to celebrate my birthday. The food was delish as always, but the staff really made it fab. They were all so nice. They had us switch tables to one out of the draft (doors are open because Covid) when they saw I had my coat on. When they heard it was my birthday, they gave us a free whoopee pie as we headed out. Thanks team for a lovely evening!
So good!! Came a few years ago and did not think it was worth the hype. Well, now in 2022 and it is definitely worth the hype. I loved the Elote Mac. I was also impressed with their system - open seating, order via QR code or at the counter, food comes to you, staff are quick to arrive with water when we first sat down outdoors. Such a great meal!
I was really sad the front doors were wide open on a 45 degree night. Kind of hampered an otherwise tasty meal. I'll go back but will do it take out probably.
We all kinda know this is one of the biggest names in Oakland, so my expectations were set to... pretty high. And Homeroom did not disappoint! The restaurant hosts were amazing. Food are both extremely flavorful and presentable. There are so many attractive and provoking options on the menu. It definitely is asking for a returning visit in the future to try another round.
Cutest place, very kid friendly, lots of seating and the friendliest staff. We were so well cared for while we were there. It was my family, 2 adults and 4 young kids. 5 stars on the service.We got the traditional Mac, the garlic bacon Mac and the crab Mac. The favorite was the garlic bacon for sure. The flavors were so good and the noodles were cooked really well. The crab Mac was really tasty but heavy. I could only eat 1/4 of it before I was done. My kids really liked the traditional Mac too.The star reduction was for the desserts. We got the apple crisp, the fudge brownie sundae and the peanut butter pie. The fudge brownie sundae was the only one I’d order again. The apple crisp was just okay, probably my least favorite. The peanut butter pie was served cold and was hard. It was like peanut butter ice cream in a graham cracker shell. Once it softened it was so much better and had that silky texture you want in a peanut butter pie. The fudge brownie sundae was ordinary, the brownies were small and just okay, the ice cream was okay, overall okay.
