A decent stop for Vietnamese food in Rockridge, but certainly not at the top of my list. If you travel a few miles out to Lake Merritt, East Oakland, or Chinatown, you'll build a list of high quality, authentic pho and vermicelli. The options here are plenty, but the quality of the food is not as rich. The staff lacks the experience and knowledge for simple asks such as cooking bean sprouts (a typical ask at a local pho shop), but the friendliness more than makes up for this.I order the seafood pho and fried shrimp appetizer, my wife gets the chicken vermicelli, and friends often get the beef pho.
I am a bit confused about the review of pho. Both times when I was there, everything was average except pho broth. Their pho broth was not clear and was not good at all. The appetizer dishes were good.
We ordered beef pho and the shrimp and pork fresh rolls. Flavors are really strong and delicious, and everything was packaged nicely. Big portions and the price is right on! This will be our new go-to spot.

Honestly love this place. Food is great, lots of GF and vegetarian/vegan options without compromising any flavor. Definitely try for the mini bao appetizers with your choice of protein (personally love that they have vegan chicken/vegan beef).Best part, the staff. Super friendly and attentive. They held conversations with some patrons but never left anyone waiting for service. One person even spent a little time giving us pointers on how to properly reheat a soup and how to order things if we expect to take some to go. Highly recommend.
Holy Basil is an unreal pho joint. It became my go to takeout spot during Covid and they never disappoint.Massive bowls of pho, incrediblely fresh spring rolls, and killer chicken wings. The broth here hits different.Highly recommend if you love pho.
The vegetarian spring rolls were great and the portion for the large pho was huge! Shoutout Bryan for the awesome service too.
this is no ordinary restaurant. fantastic food, great cocktails, top notch service and ambience. will return soon. new fave place.
I've been wanting to check out this place for a while and it finally happened. I can't believe I've not done so sooner! Had the lemongrass pho and it was delicious. Service was slow but they were trying their best. Beautiful decor which adds to the ambiance.
