Small hole in the wall. But tasty traditional Mexican eats. Probably the only place left after COVID who's prices are fair in downtown Oakland, too.
Do yourself a favor and order the ground beef enchiladas. The best!

I would say this is the best burrito place I have ever had in my life.It’s very small and humble location. I always compare other places with this burrito.The secret hot sauce is something which you should go for.I strongly encourage you to have their hot sauce. I feel it’s the most authentic place in the Oakland or maybe the entire Bay Area.I believe that’s the recipe of that old lady. Hope they pass on the legacy to someone.I don’t know why but I have some strange emotional attachment to this place.
I love this restaurant! Happy Burrito literally makes me happy!!! I usually order the beef burrito and chicken tacos. The service is good and I do miss eating inside but overall the food is excellent. I also wanted to mention how good the hot sauce is here. Thats some good hot sauce!!! Definitely one of my favorite restaurants
I've been coming here for decades. For the last few years it's been the veggie burrito, black beans, salsa inside (and what a salsa), and 1/2 a sliced avocado (vs guac). It's the very best. Their salsa is out of this world! Spicy yet amazingly flavorful (it's their secret sauce, imho). And the staff are awesome. No non-sense folks that work hard; order your food, pay, and wait a few minutes and presto. A very affordable awesome meal. I'm old, and each one of them could pretty much be my mom or dad, and I have tremendous respect for all of them. Treat them well and tip them generously!
