Very good food. Would be nice if the sandwiches included a side

This is a staple for lunches and cocktails with friends. At times the waiting staff is TOO attentive, asking to take my plate 5 times before I’m fully finished. But I appreciate the quality of the meals and thoughtful drink menu.

The host also filled in as our server today (seemed like someone likely called in sick), and they were absolutely phenomenal. On top of everything from seating us immediately, taking our orders quickly, and even got us a comfortable chair for our tiny dog. The heaters outside kept us all warm, the food was delicious, and the portions were huge. Very happy with this visit and we'll be back!

I just moved to Oakland and on weekends I always see big line in front of this place. So gave it a try. LOVED my sandwich. Had Obama Llama for lunch. Service was good. One less star for wait but worth it.

One of the best brunch places I've been to -- hands down. You definitely get your bang for your buck and more. The food quality and service were both ?. I highly recommend the Savory French Toast from the brunch menu -- the poached eggs were cooked just right and went perfectly with the mellow flavors from the ?mushrooms, butter, ?parmesan (?) cheese flakes, and toasted ?bread. The bread was fresh, toasty and not soggy (my pet peeve).I forget the name of our waiter but her professionalism, kindness, and consideration gave this review it's 5th star? Wait time was not bad at all!I definitely will try the sweet French toast next time! ?

Update: Stopped by for Sunday brunch. Had a 20-30 minute wait. Savory french toast was a pleasant surprise. White peach bellini was refreshing.Food came out decently quick. Falafel was a bit try. Burrata was a bit too salty. Service was great. Drinks were strong.

An interesting experience. Left our names for a patio table and were told we’d receive a text in around 15 minutes when a table opens up. Never received a text, but returned in 30 minutes and were seated fairly quickly even though they’d obviously forgotten about us. Server takes our order and as she finishes she looks under the table at our dog (20 lb rescue mutt) and says “your dog just bit me” then scurries away before we can make sense of what happened. A minute later a manager or owner (white woman, short hair) returned and immediately began accosting us and demanding that we leave in a way that you might speak to a child. We calmly collected our dogs and took them to the car as she continued to yell at us. To the server, we’d like to apologize for our dog startling you, but what happened was certainly not a bite and certainly didn’t warrant the way we were treated. The more I looked around and observed the way other guests were being treated and the more I read other google reviews, it’s become clear that the staff at this establishment 1- is not at all ”dog friendly” (totally fine but mention it before we have a seat) and 2- has no issue speaking completely out of turn to guests as long as they are Black. Decent food, but not worth the disrespect.

Great place, great service and the food was delicious. French toast , pastrami Benedict and the drinks all worth.

The bone marrow was delicious and the burrata with leek confit was amazing! The Lychee Bellini was a nice way to start my Sunday morning. I highly recommend this place for Sunday brunch. The staff is receptive and have positive, buoyant personalities—cordial and friendly from the host to the bus boy. The people watching is extraordinary and the styles are just spectacular to see. It left me feeling inspired. ? ???? all around. I love this place!

While I do like the avocado toast, this place's masterpiece is the savory french toast. Topped with eggs any way you like (I love the light scramble), greens, and shaved parmesan, I love it slathered with maple syrup and topped off with a cappuccino and a mimosa. The perfect end to a walk or run around the lake! Embience, perfect, usually not too busy indoors, a great spot!
