I really love this café. It's simple, but very good. Some of my favorites are the lox bagel, the Italian melt, and the turkey sandwich.You can't beat the prices, and the service is quick and efficient. They also have solid coffees, especially the Vietnamese iced coffee.There's no indoor seating, but it's a very convenient to grab something to-go if you are heading to Lake Merritt.
Best breakfast sandwiches in town. Wife and I explored spots all over Oakland, Good News has great breakfast sandwiches! Sausage egg cheese on croissant is top notch!
Best bagels in Oakland and a superstar staff! I cannot recommend them highly enough.
They have solid bagels, breakfast sandwiches, & their drinks are good too. I appreciate how the breakfast meat is always juicy. This place is definitely somewhere I come back to every week or so when I want to walk by Lake Merritt.

Good coffee, chai lattes, and the lox bagels are great too. Plus the people who run it are so kind. Exactly the kind of small stop-by spot you want to have as a neighbor.
Great made to order sandwich! The Italian had fresh ingredients and was expertly made. Prices are very reasonable for what you get however the use of something other than standard sandwich bread would add some excitement.
Great prices and very fast service. Good coffee too! Due to the pandemic this is literally a hole in the wall now, but they have two little benches outside so you could enjoy your coffee while seated as well. Very happy to have the Good News Cafe in the neighborhood.
