One of the better B B Q spots in Bay Area. I've been a fan since '73 when I was in college. Food always "good" but could be "top shelf". Also need to be more organized and professional with customers. Good food and customer service will bring true VICTORY! By the way, I have noticed improvement.....don't stop!

We had dinner here, order the Slab of Ribs with 3 sides. The ribs was cooked perfect and very tasty. You can order the ribs mild, med or hot. The sides is very good. We recommend this place for excellent bbq.

The food was okay, but I would have preferred the sauce to be in a separate container and not poured over the meat. Pouring the sauce made the meat boxes messy, and most of the sauce ended up in the plastic bags. Good thing I checked the contents of the bags carefully before driving off. None of the side dishes had been included. The desserts were also missing.

Coming back from our Camping trip at Samuel P Taylor, my Hubby want to end our trip in a great way ... Take out to Home .. Links n Potato Salad with mild bbq sauce .. Lunch pkg. What a way to end our 5 day trip ... ?♥️Bathroom.. very clean.

Man this place hit all the right spots!1. Our waitress made our whole group feel at home and was outstanding. Best customer service I have had in a long time.2. Everything I tried I liked. I don't like potato salads but I sure like the one I had here. The food looked so good I forgot to take a picture. ?3. The value of the lunch was great. I'm excited to have leftovers.

Had heard about this restaurant on the news and since my wife is crazy about barbecue I decided to give it a try.I am breaking down my experience:Facility: It is located in an corner of an old commercial block where your options for parking are either on the street (good luck on that. There are other bars and restaurants in the area so spaces are few and far between) or some parking garage. The inside of the restaurant is kind of retro looking but very spacious.Detail: Ambient sound was way too loud. I to speak my to-go order about 4 times for the employee to understand it.Staff: My initial interaction was with the employee at the To-go window who had difficulty to understand why questions about the size of the options on their menu and I initially felt it was an odd fluke but minutes later when I approached the counter to get my order I repeated the same question to other 3 employees and none of them had a good solid answer to the question. So it is either lack of training or disregard for what they were thought. Also I came in at the end of the afternoon and there were that many customers and what I noticed was that employees were spending more time talking to each other than carrying out their business. I worked in the restaurant industry for long time and know exactly what I am looking at.Food: Not impressed. I ordered a combination of meat (brisket and chicken) menu option #6) and it's size, even with 2 side orders, in my opinion, is not enough to satisfy an adult.I shared my order with my wife (if you read my review of Horn Barbecue knows she is a serious carnivorous and has been working in the restaurant business for over 22 years) and she was not impressed either. If she wants barbecue I will stick to the previous barbecue restaurant.Final thought: if you live nearby and are craving for a barbecue and do not want to be on a line for about an hour (Horn) give them a try.I gave them 3 stars but they have the potential for more than that if they can work on the opportunities, that is how I see the matters listed, and keep the improvements in a consistent manner going forward.

Some of the best BBQ in the bay area comes out of Oakland and that's exactly why I went there. With no planned destination I rolled into town and headed toward the square where I pulled up to a group of local men in their 60's and asked them where the best rib joint is 4 of them said E&J's so off I went.It was well worth the trip.

These are the best ribs in town- hands down. I usually get the full rack with the spicy bbq sauce, and extra bbq sauce on the side. I don’t even use napkins, i just roll with the fact that everything I touch and do at that table will be a disaster of a mess. It is worth it. One night, I took my folks here, and they were having an outdoor party and everyone was incredibly nice and hospitable- we even got to meet the owner! She gave my dad and I 4 of the biggest smoked oysters I’ve ever seen. Just an incredible place to be, to take your loved ones, and celebrate over some insane food. Like I said, I mainly go for the ribs, but their hot links & brisket hold up too. I also frequently buy their bbq sauce at Safeway. It’s that good- try dipping those frozen Arby’s French fries in it and see which way the wind blows. Also, make sure to order a pink lemonade while you’re there.

Everett and Jones has been around for a very long time, and the reason why is good food and great customer service. My family and I stopped in before heading back to Sacramento. Our orders were filled in a reasonable time, and all the utensils were included. Our orders included ribs, chicken, links, greens, cornbread, potato salad and baked beans. They are a little pricey, but the food is worth it?

Visited here for the first time… I enjoyed my food. The ribs were a little tough but the links and tri tip were fire ! The chicken was tender to the bone . The Cake was moist and fresh ??
