Used to be so good! Went here for many years. Are they under new ownership? Food isn’t what it used to be…very bland and tasteless.Also it used to have a cute local taqueria vibe with a beautiful mural and nice wood chairs and tables. But for some reason they remodeled and now it’s ugly and generic inside. Plastic benches and tables, cheap fake brick walls. Hideous fluorescent lights?! Yuck.Makes me sad to see it go down hill like this.
I go here at least once a week during lunch. The wet burritos here are great. The people who work here are all friendly and the service is fast.

I love this place, so authentic Mexican food!! If you like fried whole fish but don't want to stink up your house, they can fried one up for you here!!

Once upon a time it was one of the best Mexican restaurants in Oakland. Now it's mediocre and inconsistent.
I ordered 16 pupusas from this place once and when i got there they had placed 19 pupusas and just charged me for the extra stuff i didnt order. Price felt off and i was to dumb for not checking on the spot. They charged covid prices for togo boxes lol.I sent my mids to buy tamales, everyobe arohnd sells them for about 2.50 ea and these guys charge $3.95+ tax ea.16 tamales costed us $71.i cant say the good is bad but these guys charge way to much its ridiculous and the food isnt THAT great. I learned my lesson not go go here anymore as of 9/4/21.Moral of the story,, check what you pay for before you leave.
I was allowed to custom order my breakfast burrito (bacon sausage steak potatoes rice beans and cheese) and it was absolutely delicious! My order was made quickly and my sister loved her pancakes. She said they were perfectly buttery and fluffy. We got takeout and the food was prepared in a timely manner and the employees were very nice and helpful! Definitely will go back for lunch/dinner in the future! :)
Food is normally good so when I had unexpected dinner guest I bragged about past visits.. I was very disappointed the soup was great. I ordered 5 enchiladas dinners. Cake for dessert. The cheese was not even melted and red space was not enchilada sauce it had a nasty cumin taste. The green was ok but very little dry. The cakes were old . I did not serve it . Rice was ok beans out of a can . Surprised , I love the family vibe there. Something has changed in the kitchen. Those dinner went in the trash with the box's. I will try again . I know there better than this experience. I hate to be a complainer..
Best breakfast burritos around and I can't wait to try the (new) pupusas as well.
