This is my first time attending this restaurant and I must say that the food was fantastic! The drinks were made well very well in a staff there is very polite and friendly. The restrooms were clean as well clean restaurant in general. If I had to make one suggestion I would suggest that this restaurant will tell their patrons who smoke to stay away at least 100 yards away from the building or so because me and my guests couldn't sit outside because of the cigarette smoke even though one of the patrons were about I would say about 50 ft away I guess because of the wind. Overall we will be going there again Lord willing because this place has very very good authentic Mexican food! Oh I forgot to mention that the prices are very reasonable as well very reasonable???????????

Pass by a few times going to the coffee shop and decide to check out the website.... being one qho loves to try new restaurants you never when or where you're find that gem...This is one of those hidden gems here's a few pic the rest is up to you. You see my stars

Average food. Consistently weird service. Once we got served something more than we ordered - ordered an ala carte of something and they brought the plate. Didn't know this till we saw the large bill. Waiter lectured us for a long time about how we should raise this issue before eating. I told him we had no way to know it was not what we ordered, but he just kept lecturing!

Loud, sports bar type atmosphere, but granted there was a football game on tv. The food is a bit average. At first seems expensive but they give you very large portions. Had the beef flautas - ordered corn but got flour. No big deal - it was tasty. Good salsa. Seriously can't remember what my dinner companions had - kind of average. The service, however, is really good - best part of the dining experience.

Please check my few reviews! They are only positive and complimentary. Not this one. I'm so angry. Our order this past Monday was the worst food experience that we have ever had. We had been a steady customer since the restaurant opened. The food had always been consistently excellent. We ordered for delivery one order each of shrimp Fajitas, rice and beans, green sauce cheese enchilada, green sauce pork tamale, and a large chip order - $81.00 plus. DoorDash delivered our order within 20 minutes after placement ! We received a red sauce chicken enchilada, red sauce something that looked like a long sausage, shrimp fajitas, rice and beans, and a small bag of chips. The food was cold and "runny" like it had been old or frozen and microwaved. Needless to say the order was incorrect. We contacted DoorDash and they wanted to credit us in DoorDash credits only $23.00 out of $81.00 for the mistake ! We asked for the correct items instead. DoorDash placed another order. Again about 30 minutes the second order arrived. Incorrect again ! We received a large bag of chips, another chicken enchilada but no green sauce but covered in sour cream, and we assume that this long round cornmeal "thing" also covered in sour cream with very little beef not pork inside and no green sauce was the pork tamale ? The food that was delivered again was either old or microwaved. Very "runny" again. We could not eat it. The taste was seriously like "dishwater", the taste of reheated or microwaved frozen food when it is "over" microwaved. The shrimp was over cooked and "rubbery"hard with mostly onions mixed with the shrimp to make the fajitas. Then, when we began to try to eat we found chunks of white plastic in the fajitas ! I tried to contact management before this Yelp review but I was unsuccessful. I sent an e-mail on their website contact form. Our meal was ruined so no dinner ! The restaurant could not even get the order correct twice ! We could not get a refund ! Only DoorDash credit and indigestion from the event.

Despite its prime location in Montclair, El Agavero is just too expensive ($15+ for a burrito) compared to the neighboring taqueria with not much else to offer beyond volume. The tortilla doesn’t hold overnight well and the flavors are a bit bland. Still a good option and go-to on some lazy nights, but if you have the time look elsewhere. Highlight: Fish burrito.

Super delicious will definitely visit again service was awesome and super friendly hands down to the chef keep up the good work ???
