Food was good. Came at a bad time I guess. Bartender was very rude to table server who tried to assist him because he was obviously overwhelmed with the # of customers he had at the bar placing food orders. He was alone and had to make and serve drinks (for all customers) plus run back and forth to the kitchen for food orders. She wrote down two of our orders because we had waited over 15 minutes with nothing more than a menu and were clearly frustrated. She attempted to give him our orders and he yelled at her, told her not to touch his machine, slapped his hand on his register screen and pointed to "her" register while telling her to go put in the order on her own machine. When she said we were his customers and she wasn't trying to take his customers she just wanted to help, he yelled at her again. The other customer and I told her not to worry about our orders. Sometimes coworkers aren't getting along, but the customers shelould never witness such rudeness towards one another. The job is hard enough- dealing with people and their food and drinks...shouldn't ever have to be yelled at in front of customers to the point where almost in tears. Hope she knows she is appreciated. Bartender needs a time out.
The service was good but the food was literally the worst ever! I didn't have high expectations but the pizza was so so bad! Frozen pizza is better! I thought I couldn't go wrong with some clam chowder but both were completely inedible. For $40 I ended up without dinner. The place next door looks good should have just taken a little walk so I wouldn't be going to bed hungry.
Good food even as we come out of the pandemic. As good now as it was then. Salmon dinner and fish and chips were great. Pickled vegetables were great!
Food is good. Staff needs improvement on customer service. I wouldn't recommend this place.
Waited 10+ minutes for server ended up leaving.Nah been here 2 times room was 80 degrees units so old would not cool down. Will stay somewhere else I think next time.
Tammy is the best! Always takes care of the patrons! Food is good and quick. Try that grilled cheese with a beverage after a long day!
I had a salad and it was $17.00 before tax or gratuity- the service was good, the salad was fresh, but it was a cobb salad. I was hungry, had just flown in and and I have a per diem of $25 for dinner, and I was tired and wanted to rest. Again, the service was great in the restaurant/bar - but this hotel??? Take a pass and choose Holiday Inn down the street. The hotel is a joke.
I NEVER thought I'd have this kind of experience at a hotel restaurant, let alone a HILTON! My wife and I were served by Bernie, a beautiful soul with unforgettable eyes and the GREATEST customer service I've received in a very long time. They actually have a full bar, I ordered a Gibson Up and they actually knew what kind of drink that was and how to make it. Many places don't. Our drinks were never empty, even when we switched to soda. We ordered Mozzarella Sticks, chicken wings, fries, and a grilled chicken sandwich with bacon and onion rings. Everything was served to order and tasted AMAZING! The chicken was crunchy, the cheese sticks were hot and stringy, the fries were crisp, onion rings were perfectly beer battered, and the sandwich came with this jalapeno ranch sauce that is to DIE FOR. You travel because you want an experience, and it's always the best experience when you get the best one in an unexpected place. Please keep up the great work and service.
I'm not from Oakland, so I don't have a good perspective on what places should be like there. We stayed at the Hilton 1 night and went to this tavern to get a drink. Their cheapest bottle of wine was $30 and it was TERRIBLE!! Service was slow.
Nice to have an onsite place to eat while traveling. Food here was fine. I will be back
