Convenient location with a nice mixture of traditional and new bougie trendy donuts. Definitely would go again. I have pictures but I ate them all too fast
Great place to go if you are having sugar craving around or past midnight. I had a plain donut that had just come out of the fryer and it was heavenly! Their shelves have so many variety of donuts (old fashioned, cake-style, cream-filled, sugar-glazed, jelly-filled) that it makes really hard to pick one. Usually 24-hour donut shops have very few donuts on the shelf when it is late night. But this store had donuts wall to wall when I went there at 1 AM! If you are a donut fan like me, make sure to visit this shop.
Been going to Colonial Donuts since I was a very little kid. My dad went when he was a kid. After being sold a time or two, they have managed to stay true to the recipes that made them great. Love Colonial!
Baked fresh on premise every morning, 1940's woolworths decor. Perfect in every way. If you are looking for a cup of coffee and an classic glazed donut this is you place. But wait, there are dozens of varieties, and they are all good. Ok I wouldn't say they have the worlds best croissant, but its a donut shop, not a French bakery, and its still darn good.
Only place open in the middle of the night and what a pleasant surprise these donuts were. Delicious & great prices - was surprised this place wasn’t busier. Actually came back to get a dozen for the drive home??
I have been enjoying Colonial Donuts off and on for years. My most recent visit was a mixed bag. The cruller and cinnamon butterfly were well received but the chocolate old fashion was day old and the person who had the apple fritter found it too sweet.
Been eating donuts 30 years from them they used to have hot donuts chocolate dripping at 400 am also good scratchers
Been going here for years- great donuts, friendly and quick service, I like their ham cheese egg bacon "croissanwich" which they always offer to heat up for you... had their mocha freeze (I think) recently, very yummy... they have bags of day old bagels for cheap~ hope they never close...!
The best donut place in Oakland. They are open 24 hours, and usually have a hot batch around dinner/8 PM or so.
24 hours, and consistently stocked doughnut shelves. Friendly, look you in the eye, service by the sweet lady at the front. Not stand-offish, very nice, warm and genuine spirit. When I started to wipe the counter from my spilled coffee, she said: no worry, I will clean that, no worry. So nice.Excellent variety, and freshness is key.They offer the sweetest doughnuts you've ever seen, and the freshest "healthy" alternative croissant type pastry too.The coffee is EXCELLENT, and high quality, not cheap coffeemaker black, like you see in a lot of those places. I got hazelnut when I was there. It was PERFECT!
