Amazing place. Everything we ate was delicious, I highly recommend stopping by. The staff was great; I will definitely be a frequent customer.
I liked the champa sampler. The sausage and spring roll were both good and everything together made for good lettuce wraps. Did not like the pad thai, too much sour/tamarind/almost ketchup-like flavors to it.
Incredible. No frills, friendly and timely service, delicious dishes at very affordable prices.
Fantastic food. We got the papaya salad and pad see ew w veggies and the noodles were SO tasty.
I've been coming to Champa for many years. All the food is amazing here. The atmosphere was always great. The pho is good. The Thai food is amazing and the lao tacos are to die for. I would definitely recommend to anyone. They were always nice here.
If you want good lao/Thai food, this is the spot. The traditional flavors are here in full force. The spice level is too mild for my liking but I can see why they did it this way. The service is fantastic btw. Overall, I'd come back again and again.
Happy to see the have the full selection of spices on the table. Just like in Thailand!!! Menu had good selection. I did choose this place as it was rated high among Thai restaurants in Oakland. It's certainly not a fancy place, but would come back if I had opportunity
Gotta love Champa Garden in Oakland - coming here after almost 4 years! Place is bit sad and empty I guess since covid. They have reduced a lot of their seating area which is quite sad to see. But we were happy food remained equally good as it used to be :) We loved tom yum soup, beef noodle soup and the fresh shrimp rolls. Everything was delicious - our 4 years old also enjoyed the food. Place is neat and bathrooms are clean. Always a pleasure to visit.
This nondescript Laotian corner eatery is clearly doing something right. Stepped in on a Sunday at 5:30pm, with every table taken and a list of neighborhood regulars waiting to get their fill.A nice mix of Southeast Asian dishes. Ordered the vegetable clay pot with silver noodles and a shrimp add on, served in a tasty and comforting ginger sauce. Friendly and attentive service. Will be back to try more of the menu, especially the Lue dishes.
I believe that this is THE BEST green curry I have ever had in my life. When I eat Thai, I always order it because it is my favorite dish- and I thought I knew what good green curry was. Well, I didn’t- and I felt like such an idiot for not finding this place over the years. They should applaud the chefs as they walk into work every day…there should be some sort of award for this place. As for the rest of the food, every curry offered is otherworldly. The Thai & Laotian dishes are equal, if not better than the best Thai restaurants. The price for these dishes is jaw dropping considering the expertise and care- there are so many restaurants that charge more and give you less with a bad attitude. Not this place. This is in my holy grail of Oakland restaurants.
