The one coffee shop that had outlets! I went to two other beforehand. It’s pretty small and lively. Not modern got more of a different style. I only had orange juice though but I saw Simone order lasagna and it looked good.
Mmmm, very tasty! I had the hash, which was hearty and delicious (had to take some home to save for lunch). My husband had the bacon and egg sandwich which he very much enjoyed. Coffee was excellent, and staff were very friendly. Definitely would go back next time I'm in the area.
Went in here thinking this place was an Italian style espresso bar but left disappointed. I asked the attendant if their eclairs were filled with custard - traditional - which I wanted - and she didn't know so she asked someone else who told her it was. It turned out to be filled with generic whipping cream and covered in cheap over sweet chocolate and the pastry part was dry and hard. I also ordered a quad Americano and she gave me a quad espresso. I just wasted $10 & as an Italian American I suggest you go elsewhere.
What happened?? The quality of breakfast has drastically diminished. In the last 4 orders the eggs have been way over cooked and the yolks aren't even runny. The chili flakes have been completely missing, and in the last order the home fries that are supposed to come with the order were completely missing. Sad to see the quality of what formerly was a good restaurant diminish so drastically. So dissapointing.
Disappointing! Not what it once was, for sure! Ordered an item "to go" with ONE SMALL substitution; explained EXACTLY the 1 change requested AND asked if it could be made. They SAID "yes"; I PAID for the FULL item; got literally 1/4 of the items listed on the menu. Sigh... IF I return, it'll ONLY be for the coffee; they do GREAT coffee, but until people take the time to LISTEN, won't order food from here again, no matter how good it tastes!
A little crowded and cash only. Not a problem for me but for some in line. Some confusion for them. Be aware - cash only. Their chai is really good.
Had an infuriating run-in with lady behind counter on 4/17 (Easter!) sometime 1-1:40pm. Arrived at unattended counter and stood alone waiting for at least a minute. Noticed that cashier was off by front window hidden behind equipment chitchatting with another staff. I had paced away from the register and was about to call out when she started walking toward the counter just as other customers came in. As she came into view from behind equipment I started to speak to order. I was not being impolite. She stared at me and mumbled she didn’t know who was next. I said I was but she kept moving toward the cash register to help one of the others that had just walked up after me. I said I had actually been waiting alone before these other customers walked in but she ignored me. A bit puzzled and feeling insulted, and against my better judgment, I cursed and stormed off. I’m still puzzling as to why she had instantly decided that I must have been lying about being there ahead of the others at the counter.I’m old enough to have been a patron of Caffe Trieste in SF, which I believe is Chiave’s mothership. The run-in left me with a very sour taste for their coffee which I’ll never be looking for again at this location.
Great cafe to spend an afternoon! Love how many food options there is and the desserts were tasty! The cafe offers outdoor seating which is perfect on a sunny day. Although I do have to warn you the pigeons there will steal you food and a few of them are pretty aggressive... they keep coming back and I couldn’t chase them away? Keep a close eye on your delicious meal ?

I came to get some work done and relax. It was a bit crowded but I did find a place to sit. The pear salad was not what I expected. I probably should have ordered one of their scrumptious looking desserts instead! It was a bit unkept inside but for the most part employees were friendly and helpful. I'd come back for the desserts.
